As for you, show kindness to your servant, for you have brought him into a covenant with you before the Lord. If I am guilty, then kill me yourself! Why hand me over to your father?”

Please be kind to me. You have made a covenant with me in front of the Lord. If I’m guilty, kill me yourself! Don’t hand me over to your father!”

Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the Lord with you. But if there is guilt in me, kill me yourself, for why should you bring me to your father?”

Show me this loyalty as my sworn friend— for we made a solemn pact before the Lord— or kill me yourself if I have sinned against your father. But please don’t betray me to him!”

Deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought me into a covenant with you before the LORD. If I have done anything wrong, then kill me yourself; why take me to your father?”

約拿單像愛自己一樣愛大衛，他與大衛立了盟約，

押沙龍答道：「我派人請你來，希望你替我去問王，『我為什麼要從基述回來呢？倒不如仍然留在那裡。』現在我要見王，如果我有什麼罪過，就讓他殺了我吧！」

二人在耶和華面前立了約。之後，大衛仍留在何利沙，約拿單則回家去了。

於是，約拿單與大衛家立下盟約，說：「倘若大衛不守盟約，願耶和華藉著仇敵懲罰他。」

二人便對她說：「如果你不洩露我們的事，我們願意用性命擔保，當耶和華把這地方賜給我們的時候，我們一定守信善待你。」

我曾驚恐地說：「人人都說謊。」

大衛出去迎接他們，說：「如果你們是好心來幫助我的，我就與你們結盟，但如果你們把我這無罪之人出賣給敵人，願我們祖先的上帝鑒察、懲罰你們。」

拿俄米對兩個兒媳婦說：「你們還是各回娘家去吧！願耶和華恩待你們，就好像你們恩待死去的丈夫和我一樣。

不要讓慈愛和信實離開你，要把他們繫在你的頸項上，刻在你的心坎上。

現在，你們若願意以慈愛和信實對待我的主人，答應這門親事，請告訴我；如果不答應，也請告訴我，好讓我知道應該怎麼辦。」

他快要離世的時候，把兒子約瑟叫來，說：「你如果恩待我，請你把手放在我大腿底下起誓，你會以慈愛和信實待我，不把我葬在埃及。

如果我做錯了，犯了該死的罪，我決不逃避！但他們對我的指控毫無根據，誰也不能把我交給他們。我要向凱撒上訴！」

倘若我恩將仇報，無故搶奪仇敵，就讓仇敵追上我，踐踏我，使我聲名掃地。（細拉）

「大能的上帝耶和華，大能的上帝耶和華，祂知道一切！以色列人也當知道！如果我們做了違背或干犯耶和華的事，願祂今天就不放過我們！
