But the next day, the second day of the month, David’s place was empty again. Then Saul said to his son Jonathan,“ Why hasn’t the son of Jesse come to the meal, either yesterday or today?”

But when David’s place was empty again the next day, Saul asked Jonathan,“ Why hasn’t the son of Jesse been here for the meal either yesterday or today?”

However, the day after the New Moon, the second day, David’s place was still empty, and Saul asked his son Jonathan,“ Why didn’t Jesse’s son come to the meal either yesterday or today?”

But it came about the next day, the second day of the new moon, that David’s place was empty again; so Saul said to his son Jonathan,“ Why has the son of Jesse not come to the meal, either yesterday or today?”

And it happened the next day, the second day of the month, that David’s place was empty. And Saul said to Jonathan his son,“ Why has the son of Jesse not come to eat, either yesterday or today?”

However, the day after the New Moon, the second day, David’s place was still empty, and Saul asked his son Jonathan,“ Why didn’t Jesse’s son come to the meal either yesterday or today?”

And it came to pass on the morrow,[ which was] the second[ day] of the month, that David’s place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?

And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah.

And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there are many servants now- a- days that break away every man from his master.

and Saul cast the spear; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall. And David avoided out of his presence twice.

Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas?

And Saul said unto him, Why have ye conspired against me, thou and the son of Jesse, in that thou hast given him bread, and a sword, and hast inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, And who among all thy servants is so faithful as David, who is the king’s son- in- law, and is taken into thy council, and is honorable in thy house?

And an evil spirit from Jehovah was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul’s presence, and he smote the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.

And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.

unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious,

And Saul said unto his servants that stood about him, Hear now, ye Benjamites; will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, will he make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds,that all of you have conspired against me, and there is none that discloseth to me when my son maketh a league with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you that is sorry for me, or discloseth unto me that my son hath stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as at this day?Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who stood by the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
