But if he is angry and wants you killed, may the Lord strike me and even kill me if I don’t warn you so you can escape and live. May the Lord be with you as he used to be with my father.

But if my father intends to harm you, may the Lord deal with Jonathan, be it ever so severely, if I do not let you know and send you away in peace. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father.

But suppose he wants to harm you. And I don’t let you know about it. Suppose I don’t help you get away in peace. Then may the Lord punish me greatly. May he be with you, just as he has been with my father.

But should it please my father to do you harm, the Lord do so to Jonathan and more also if I do not disclose it to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. May the Lord be with you, as he has been with my father.

If my father intends to bring evil on you, may the LORD punish Jonathan and do so severely if I do not tell you and send you away so you may leave safely. May the LORD be with you, just as he was with my father.

If it pleases my father to do you harm, may the Lord do so to me and more so, if I fail to inform you and send you away, so that you may go in safety. And may the Lord be with you as He has been with my father.

may the Lord do so and much more to Jonathan. But if it pleases my father to do you evil, then I will report it to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. And the Lord be with you as He has been with my father.

Jehovah do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and Jehovah be with thee, as he hath been with my father.

You have expert goldsmiths and silversmiths and workers of bronze and iron. Now begin the work, and may the Lord be with you!”

“ Now, my son, may the Lord be with you and give you success as you follow his directions in building the Temple of the Lord your God.

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.

The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented.“ All right, go ahead,” he said.“ And may the Lord be with you!”

Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”

“ What did the Lord say to you? Tell me everything. And may God strike you and even kill you if you hide anything from me!”

Saul was then afraid of David, for the Lord was with David and had turned away from Saul.

But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight.

After these signs take place, do what must be done, for God is with you.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Now when Saul had secured his grasp on Israel’s throne, he fought against his enemies in every direction— against Moab, Ammon, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. And wherever he turned, he was victorious.

And David told them to tell Amasa,“ Since you are my own flesh and blood, like Joab, may God strike me and even kill me if I do not appoint you as commander of my army in his place.”

Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he became very angry.He took two oxen and cut them into pieces and sent the messengers to carry them throughout Israel with this message:“ This is what will happen to the oxen of anyone who refuses to follow Saul and Samuel into battle!” And the Lord made the people afraid of Saul’s anger, and all of them came out together as one.When Saul mobilized them at Bezek, he found that there were 300,000 men from Israel and 30,000 men from Judah.So Saul sent the messengers back to Jabesh gilead to say,“ We will rescue you by noontime tomorrow!” There was great joy throughout the town when that message arrived!The men of Jabesh then told their enemies,“ Tomorrow we will come out to you, and you can do to us whatever you wish.”But before dawn the next morning, Saul arrived, having divided his army into three detachments. He launched a surprise attack against the Ammonites and slaughtered them the whole morning. The remnant of their army was so badly scattered that no two of them were left together.Then the people exclaimed to Samuel,“ Now where are those men who said,‘ Why should Saul rule over us?’ Bring them here, and we will kill them!”But Saul replied,“ No one will be executed today, for today the Lord has rescued Israel!”

David had refused to eat anything on the day of the funeral, and now everyone begged him to eat. But David had made a vow, saying,“ May God strike me and even kill me if I eat anything before sundown.”

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah:“ May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

May God strike me and kill me if even one man of his household is still alive tomorrow morning!”

Then Ben hadad sent this message to Ahab:“ May the gods strike me and even kill me if there remains enough dust from Samaria to provide even a handful for each of my soldiers.”

Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me— everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
