David asked,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?”

David asked,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you in a mean way?”

Then David said to Jonathan,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you roughly?”

Then David asked,“ How will I know whether or not your father is angry?”

So David asked Jonathan,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?”

Then David said to Jonathan,“ Who will inform me if your father answers you harshly?”

Then David said to Jonathan,“ Who will tell me, or what if your father answers you roughly?”

Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me if perchance thy father answer thee roughly?

So David asked Jonathan,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you harshly?”

Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what[ if] thy father answer thee roughly?

Then David said to Jonathan,“ Who will tell me if your father answers you roughly?”

The king responded to the people harshly. He rejected the advice of the older men

A poor person makes supplications, but a rich man answers harshly.

He did not eat any food on that second day of the new moon, for he was upset that his father had humiliated David.

But Nabal responded to David’s servants,“ Who is David, and who is this son of Jesse? This is a time when many servants are breaking away from their masters!
