He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.“ For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.

He raises poor people up from the trash pile. He lifts needy people out of the ashes. He lets them sit with princes. He gives them places of honor.“ The foundations of the earth belong to the Lord. On them he has set the world.

約伯為他的朋友祈禱。耶和華就使約伯從苦境中轉回，並且耶和華賜給他的比他從前所有的加倍。約伯的兄弟、姊妹，和以前所認識的人都來到他那裏，在他家裏跟他一同吃飯。他們因耶和華所降於他的一切災禍，都為他悲傷，安慰他。每人送他一塊可錫塔和一個金環。這樣，耶和華後來賜福給約伯比先前更多。他有一萬四千隻羊，六千匹駱駝，一千對牛，一千匹母驢。

於是王使但以理高升，賞賜他極多的禮物，派他管理巴比倫全省，又立他為總理，掌管巴比倫所有的智慧人。

我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，上帝豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，使他們在信心上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？

「我立大地根基的時候，你在哪裏？你若明白事理，只管說吧！你知道是誰定地的尺度，是誰把準繩拉在其上嗎？地的根基安置在何處？地的角石是誰安放的？

又使我們成為國度，作他父上帝的祭司。願榮耀、權能歸給他，直到永永遠遠。阿們！

又使他們成為國民和祭司，歸於我們的上帝；他們將在地上執掌王權。」

撒母耳說：「你雖然看自己為小，你豈不是作了以色列諸支派的元首嗎？耶和華膏你作了以色列的王。

你可以治理我的家；我的百姓都必服從你口中的命令。惟獨在寶座上，我比你大。」

他把地建立在海上，安定在江河之上。

現在，你要對我僕人大衛這樣說：『萬軍之耶和華如此說：我從羊圈中將你召來，叫你不再牧放羊羣，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。

將地立在根基上，使地永不動搖。

你起初立了地的根基，天也是你手所造的。

於是法老派人去召約瑟，他們就急忙把他從牢裏提出來。他就剃頭刮臉，換衣服，進到法老面前。

這是眾守望者所發的命令，是眾聖者所作的決定，好叫世人知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜給誰就賜給誰，並且立極卑微的人執掌國權。』

他不讓惡人活着，卻為困苦人伸冤。他的眼目不遠離義人，卻使他們和君王同坐寶座，永遠被高舉。

那人從監牢裏出來作王，在國中原是出身貧寒。

這但以理因有卓越的靈性，超乎其餘的總長和總督，王想立他治理全國。

他用膀臂施展大能；他趕散心裏妄想的狂傲人。他叫有權柄的失位，叫卑賤的升高。

得勝的，我要賜他在我寶座上與我同坐，就如我得了勝，在我父的寶座上與他同坐一般。

不再有黑夜；他們也不需要燈光或日光，因為主上帝要光照他們。他們要作王，直到永永遠遠。

他是上帝榮耀的光輝，是上帝本體的真像，常用他大能的命令托住萬有。他洗淨了人的罪，就坐在高天至大者的右邊。

約伯就坐在灰燼中，拿瓦片刮身體。
