生过七子的妇人力衰气绝；尚在白昼，日头忽落；她抱愧蒙羞。其余的人，我必在他们敌人跟前，交与刀剑。这是耶和华说的。”

“你这不怀孕、不生养的要歌唱；你这未曾经过产难的要发声歌唱，扬声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的比有丈夫的儿女更多。这是耶和华说的。

叫饥饿的得饱美食，叫富足的空手回去。

毗尼拿见耶和华不使哈拿生育，就作她的对头，大大激动她，要使她生气。

因为经上记着：“不怀孕、不生养的，你要欢乐；未曾经过产难的，你要高声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的，比有丈夫的儿女更多。”

哈拿就怀孕。日期满足，生了一个儿子，给他起名叫撒母耳，说：“这是我从耶和华那里求来的。”

少壮狮子还缺食忍饿，但寻求耶和华的，什么好处都不缺。

亚伯拉罕说：‘儿啊，你该回想你生前享过福，拉撒路也受过苦；如今他在这里得安慰，你倒受痛苦。
