You will see the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which I will give Israel. There shall not be an old man in your house forever.

以色列富有之際、爾必目擊敵在我室、爾家永無耆老、

昔我有言、將厚待以色列族、今而後、敵必臨我家、為爾目擊、在爾家不得有老者。

在主降福於以色列人時、有他人為祭司在聖所、爾必怒目視其為敵、在爾家中永無老者、

and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age.

You will see nothing but trouble in the house where I live. Good things will still happen to Israel. But no one in your family line will ever grow old.

Then in distress you will look with envious eye on all the prosperity that shall be bestowed on Israel, and there shall not be an old man in your house forever.

You will watch with envy as I pour out prosperity on the people of Israel. But no members of your family will ever live out their days.

You will see distress in the place of worship, in spite of all that is good in Israel, and no one in your family will ever again reach old age.

And you will look at the distress of My dwelling, in spite of all the good that I do for Israel; and there will never be an old man in your house.

And you will see an enemy in My dwelling place, despite all the good which God does for Israel. And there shall not be an old man in your house forever.

And thou shalt behold the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel; and there shall not be an old man in thy house for ever.

And thou shalt see an enemy[ in my] habitation, in all[ the wealth] which[ God] shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.

You will see trouble in my dwelling place! Israel will experience blessings, but there will not be an old man in your house for all time.

Yahweh of Armies says:“ Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

God’s ark was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel,so that he abandoned the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men,and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary’s hand.He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.

So the people sent to Shiloh, and they brought from there the ark of the covenant of Yahweh of Armies, who sits above the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

She said,“ The glory has departed from Israel; for God’s ark has been taken.”

To Abiathar the priest the king said,“ Go to Anathoth, to your own fields; for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord Yahweh’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted.”So Solomon thrust Abiathar out from being priest to Yahweh, that he might fulfill Yahweh’s word, which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
