他用銅作洗濯盆，也用銅作盆座，用那些在會棚出入處服役的女工的銅鏡子作的。

也不認清祭司從人民所應得的分額。凡有人獻祭，正煮肉的時候，祭司的僮僕就來，手裏拿着三齒叉子，將叉子往盆裏、或鼎裏、或釜裏，或鍋裏一插，凡叉子所插上來的，祭司都取為己有。在示羅，凡來到那裏的以色列人，他們都這樣待他們。甚至在未燻脂肪以前、祭司的僮僕就來，對獻祭的人說：『將肉給祭司去烤吧！他不要跟你取煮過的，只要生的。』獻祭的人若對他說：『人必須先燻脂肪，然後你才可以隨意去取』；僮僕就說：『不，你現在就給，不然我便強取。』這樣，那兩個青年人的罪在永恆主面前就非常大了，因為人們都藐視獻與永恆主的供物。

她的祭司強解了我的禮節規矩，褻瀆了我的聖物；聖的和俗的他們都不分別，不潔淨的潔淨的他們也不使人分辨，我的安息日他們也掩目不顧，以致我在他們中間都被褻慢了。

撒母耳年紀老了，就立他的兒子做以色列的士師。

怎麼啦！你們偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、起假誓、燻祭獻給巴力，隨從素不認識之別的神，你們又來到這稱為我名下的殿，站在我面前，說：「我們得救了！」——無他，只為的是要繼續行那些可厭惡的事罷了！是不是？

因此人民怎樣，祭司也怎樣；我必因他們所行的、察罰他們；我必照他們的行為還報與他們。他們喫，也喫不飽；他們行淫，卻不能得滿意；因為他們離棄了永恆主去躭於行淫。酒和新酒把我人民的心奪了去。
