他用銅做洗濯盆，又用銅做盆座，是用那些在會幕門口服事的婦女的銅鏡做成的。

也不理會當時祭司待人民的規矩。凡是有人獻祭，在煮肉的時候，祭司的僕人就來，手裡拿著三齒的叉，把叉子插入煎盤裡，或鼎裡，或釜裡，或鍋裡，叉子插上來的，祭司都拿去。所有到示羅來的以色列人，祭司都是這樣待他們。還有，在焚燒脂油以前，祭司的僕人就來，對獻祭的人說：“把祭肉交給祭司燒烤吧，因為他不會向你要煮過的肉，單要生的。”如果那人對僕人說：“必須先把脂油焚燒了，然後你才可以隨意去拿。”他就說：“不可以，你現在就要給我，否則我就搶去。”這樣，那兩個青年人在耶和華面前所犯的罪很大，因為他們藐視獻給耶和華的祭物。

這地的祭司違反我的律法，褻瀆我的聖物；他們不分別聖俗，也不教導人分辨甚麼是潔淨的和不潔淨的，又掩目不理我的安息日，以致我在他們中間被褻瀆。

撒母耳年老的時候，立了他的兒子作以色列人的士師。

你們怎可偷盜、兇殺、姦淫、起假誓、向巴力燒香，跟從你們素不認識的別神，然後來到這稱為我名下的殿，站在我面前，說：‘我們安全啦！’你們這樣就可以行這一切可憎的事嗎？

所以，祭司怎樣，人民也怎樣。我必按他們的行為懲罰他們，照他們的行為報應他們。他們吃，卻吃不飽；行淫，人數卻不會增多；因為他們離棄了耶和華，不遵守他的命令。淫行、酒和新酒，把人的心奪走了。
