他們行不義，就得了不義的工價。他們在白晝縱情作樂，滿了污點與瑕疵，和你們一同吃飯的時候，就因自己的詭詐而沾沾自喜。他們滿眼淫色，而且不住地犯罪。他們引誘心志不堅固的人。他們的心習慣了貪婪，是應當受咒詛的族類。他們離棄正路，走入歧途，跟從了比珥的兒子巴蘭的道路。這巴蘭貪愛不義的工價，

這些狗十分貪吃，不知飽足；他們是牧人，但甚麼都不明白；他們都偏行自己的道路，各從各方求自己的利益。

你們為甚麼輕視（“輕視”直譯是“踢”）我所吩咐要為我居所獻上的祭牲和禮物呢？（《馬索拉文本》本句意思不明確）你為甚麼尊重你的兒子過於尊重我，用我子民以色列所獻一切最好的禮物自肥呢？’

“真願你們當中有人把殿門關上，免得你們在我的壇上徒然點火。”萬軍之耶和華說：“我不喜歡你們，也不從你們手中收納禮物。”

因為我從以色列人的平安祭中，取出了這搖祭的胸和舉祭的後腿，給亞倫祭司和他的子孫，成為以色列人中永遠的律例。
