The priests did not ask,‘ Where is the Lord?’ Those who taught my word ignored me, the rulers turned against me, and the prophets spoke in the name of Baal, wasting their time on worthless idols.

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents.

After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.

What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?

They pile lie upon lie and utterly refuse to acknowledge me,” says the Lord.

For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”
