Eli’s sons were scoundrels; they had no regard for the Lord.

Eli’s sons were good for nothing. They didn’t honor the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were scoundrels who had no respect for the Lord

Eli’s sons were wicked men; they did not respect the LORD

Now the sons of Eli were useless men; they did not know the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord.

Now the sons of Eli[ were] sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

The sons of Eli were wicked men. They did not recognize the LORD’s authority.

Now the sons of Eli were wicked men. They didn’t know Yahweh.

The priests said not, Where is Jehovah? and they that handle the law knew me not: the rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.

And even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers,backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, that knew not Jehovah, nor yet the work which he had wrought for Israel.

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?

Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.

and ye have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be like unto you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word.

Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his house: for he is such a worthless fellow, that one cannot speak to him.

And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.

As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain base fellows, beset the house round about, beating at the door; and they spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thy house, that we may know him.

And the two men, the base fellows, came in and sat before him: and the base fellows bare witness against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did curse God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him to death with stones.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame.They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.And it shall be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will requite them their doings.

Certain base fellows are gone out from the midst of thee, and have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;

And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

But certain worthless fellows said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no present. But he held his peace.

And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and ye shall be taken away with it.And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant may be with Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might fear; and he feared me, and stood in awe of my name.The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.But ye are turned aside out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith Jehovah of hosts.Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.

and set two men, base fellows, before him, and let them bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst curse God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him to death.

Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed unto him.

He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah.
