掃羅向約拿單掄槍要刺他，約拿單就知道他父親決意要殺大衛。

掃羅把槍一掄，心裏說，我要將大衛刺透，釘在牆上。大衛躲避他兩次。

沒有人能以智慧、聰明、謀略敵擋耶和華。

他們白晝遇見黑暗，午間摸索如在夜間。神拯救窮乏人脫離他們口中的刀和強暴人的手。

凡為攻擊你造成的器械必不利用；凡在審判時興起用舌攻擊你的，你必定他為有罪。這是耶和華僕人的產業，是他們從我所得的義。這是耶和華說的。

他卻從他們中間直行，過去了。

有人在這城裏逼迫你們，就逃到那城裏去。我實在告訴你們，以色列的城邑，你們還沒有走遍，人子就到了。

倘若他們因認識主－救主耶穌基督，得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又在其中被纏住、制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們曉得義路，竟背棄了傳給他們的聖命，倒不如不曉得為妙。俗語說得真不錯：狗所吐的，牠轉過來又吃；豬洗淨了又回到泥裏去滾；這話在他們身上正合式。

他們又要拿他，他卻逃出他們的手走了。

義人多有苦難，但耶和華救他脫離這一切，

「污鬼離了人身，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇之處，卻尋不着。於是說：『我要回到我所出來的屋裏去。』到了，就看見裏面空閒，打掃乾淨，修飾好了，便去另帶了七個比自己更惡的鬼來，都進去住在那裏。那人末後的景況比先前更不好了。這邪惡的世代也要如此。」

他救我脫離我的勁敵和那些恨我的人，因為他們比我強盛。

主說：以法蓮哪，我可向你怎樣行呢？猶大啊，我可向你怎樣做呢？因為你們的良善如同早晨的雲霧，又如速散的甘露。

掃羅聽了約拿單的話，就指着永生的耶和華起誓說：「我必不殺他。」

我們好像雀鳥，從捕鳥人的網羅裏逃脫；網羅破裂，我們逃脫了。
