As they danced, they sang:“ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands.”

But the officers of Achish were unhappy about his being there.“ Isn’t this David, the king of the land?” they asked.“ Isn’t he the one the people honor with dances, singing,‘ Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

And Miriam sang this song:“ Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea.”

Isn’t this the same David about whom the women of Israel sing in their dances,‘ Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands’?”

Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter.Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.
