And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son in law in[ the one of] the twain.

他心里想：“我把这个女儿给大卫，让他中圈套，好借非利士人的手杀掉他。”于是，他对大卫说：“你现在还有一次机会做我的女婿。”

心里想：“我要把米甲给大卫，利用米甲作他的陷阱，好让非利士人的手害他。”于是扫罗对大卫说：“你今天可以第二次作我的女婿。”

他想：“我要把米甲嫁给大卫，使她成为大卫的陷阱，好让非利士人的手对付他。”于是扫罗对大卫说：“今天你有第二次机会作我的女婿。”

掃羅心裏說：『我要將這女兒給大衛、去餌誘他，好使非利士人的手能夠害他。』於是掃羅對大衛說：『你今天就可以由第二個女兒來做我的女婿了。』

他想：「我要把米甲嫁給大衛，使她成為大衛的陷阱，好讓非利士人的手對付他。」於是掃羅對大衛說：「今天你有第二次機會作我的女婿。」

曰、我妻以女、以為機檻、使非利士人加手害之、遂謂大衛曰、今日復為我壻、

自謂許妻以女、若設坎阱、使非利士人擊之。告大闢曰、予今必於二女中以其一妻爾。

掃羅自謂、以女予之、如設網羅、使非利士人害之、遂謂大衛曰、我之二女、今必以其一妻爾、

“ I will give her to him,” he thought,“ so that she may be a snare to him and so that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” So Saul said to David,“ Now you have a second opportunity to become my son-in-law.”

“ I’ll give her to David to be his wife,” Saul said to himself.“ Then maybe she’ll trap him. And maybe the Philistines will strike him down.” So Saul said to David,“ Now you have a second chance to become my son- in- law.”

Saul thought,“ Let me give her to him, that she may be a snare for him and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time,“ You shall now be my son-in-law.”

“ Here’s another chance to see him killed by the Philistines!” Saul said to himself. But to David he said,“ Today you have a second chance to become my son in law!”

“ I’ll give her to him,” Saul thought.“ She’ll be a trap for him, and the hand of the Philistines will be against him.” So Saul said to David a second time,“ You can now be my son-in-law.”

For Saul thought,“ I will give her to him so that she may become a trap for him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David,“ For a second time you may become my son in law, today.”

So Saul said,“ I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time,“ You shall be my son-in-law today.”

And Saul said, I will give him her, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Wherefore Saul said to David, Thou shalt this day be my son- in- law a second time.

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD’S battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.

Their tongue[ is as] an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit:[ one] speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

And when his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son in law: and the days were not expired.

And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for[ there are] seven abominations in his heart.[ Whose] hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the[ whole] congregation.

Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch[ which] he made.His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.

For among my people are found wicked[ men]: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

Saul also sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, tomorrow thou shalt be slain.So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.

They also that seek after my life lay snares[ for me]: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
