The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand

The next day an evil spirit sent by God came powerfully on Saul. Saul began to prophesy in his house. At that same time David began to play the harp, just as he usually did. Saul was holding a spear.

The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand.

The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand,

The next day an evil spirit sent from God came powerfully on Saul, and he began to rave inside the palace. David was playing the lyre as usual, but Saul was holding a spear,

Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul’s hand.

And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul had his spear in his hand;

耶和華使惡神憑掃羅、掃羅持戟坐於室中、大闢鼓琴、

後適祈禱所、遇婢為卜筮神所憑、以占卜大利其主、

耶和華曰、誰能誘亞哈、使往基列之喇末、殞沒其命。眾天使所陳之詞不一。有神越班而出、侍耶和華前曰、我將誘之。曰誘之若何。曰、我將感其先知、胥動以浮言。曰、往哉、行此、爾必誘之、以成爾志。今有神感爾之先知、使之浮言、耶和華聽之。然耶和華有言、必降災於王。

值上帝使惡神臨掃羅時大闢鼓琴、掃羅得慰藉而愈、惡神離之。

為此、上帝任其大謬、信諸誑言、

至午後、近獻祭之時、彼偽為憑神而言、實無聲響、亦無應對而垂顧之者。

我主歟、我王歟、請聽僕言、如爾攻我、事由耶和華、可享禮物、如事由人、願耶和華加以咒詛、蓋人驅我、使我離耶和華民、而事他上帝。今日之事可為證。

耶和華之神離掃羅、乃使惡神擾之。其僕曰、上帝使惡神擾爾、盍命侍臣、求善鼓琴者、迨惡神臨爾之時、鼓琴則愈。

掃羅既至、亦為上帝之神所感、且行且言、迨至拉馬之拿約。乃解衣裸裎、永晝永夕、仆於撒母耳前、感神而言、後有諺曰、掃羅豈在先知中乎。

告眾民曰、耶和華云、二年之內、巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒之軛、我必折之、勿許列邦供其役事。先知耶利米不置辨而去。

萬有之主耶和華曰、當是日我必棄偶像於斯土、使人頓忘其名、亦必使感邪神之先知、驅逐於斯、如有人欲為偽先知、則其父母、必責之曰、爾托耶和華之名而妄言、必不得生、而其父母、必手刃之、當是日、諸偽先知、必為所見之異象、蒙羞抱愧、不敢衣裘以惑人、乃告人曰、我非先知、我乃農夫、我自幼時、被鬻為奴。

眾先知預言曰、可往基列之喇末而獲勝、蓋耶和華將以之敗於王手。
