The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand

The next day an evil spirit sent by God came powerfully on Saul. Saul began to prophesy in his house. At that same time David began to play the harp, just as he usually did. Saul was holding a spear.

The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand.

The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand,

The next day an evil spirit sent from God came powerfully on Saul, and he began to rave inside the palace. David was playing the lyre as usual, but Saul was holding a spear,

Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul’s hand.

And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. And Saul had his spear in his hand;

從永恆主那裏來的惡靈臨到掃羅身上；（掃羅坐在屋裏，手裏拿着矛）大衛則手彈絃琴。

後來我們往禱告的地方去，有一個使女有巫覡的靈在身，迎着面而來；她行占卜術、使她主人們得了許多生意。

永恆主說：「誰去引誘亞哈上去、倒斃在基列的拉末呢？」這個說這樣，那個說那樣。隨後有一個靈出來，站在永恆主面前、說：「我去引誘他。」永恆主問他說：「你用甚麼法子呢？」他說：「我要出去，在他的眾神言人口中做個虛假之靈。」永恆主說：「這樣你就能夠引誘，並且能成功；你出去這樣行吧。」所以現在你看，永恆主將虛假之靈放在你這些眾神言人口中了；並且在關於你的事上永恆主也說到災禍的事了。』

每逢從上帝那裏來的惡靈臨到了掃羅身上的時候，大衛總伸手拿琴來彈，掃羅便覺得舒暢爽快，惡靈就離開他。

為這緣故、上帝就將謬妄「所運用的動力」送在他們身上，使他們信從虛謊，

中午過後、他們繼續發神言狂，直到獻上素祭的時候；都沒有聲音，沒有答應的，也沒有睬他們的。

現在求我主我王聽僕人的一句話：如果是永恆主激動你攻擊我，那麼願永恆主聞聞祭物；如果是人呢，那麼願他們在永恆主面前受咒詛；因為他們今天趕逐我、不容我隸屬於永恆主的產業；那就等於說：「你去事奉別的神吧。」

永恆主的靈離開了掃羅；有惡靈從永恆主那裏來驚擾他。掃羅的臣僕對他說：『你請看，現在有惡靈從上帝那裏來驚擾你呢。願我主吩咐你面前的臣僕去尋找一個精於彈琴的人來；等從上帝那裏來的惡靈臨到你身上時、他伸手一彈琴，你就好了。』

掃羅就從那裏往拉瑪的拿約去；上帝的靈也臨到他身上；他一面走，一面受感動而發神言狂，直到他抵達了拉瑪的拿約。到了那裏，他也就把衣服脫下來，也就在撒母耳面前受感動而發神言狂；那一整天一整夜他赤身裸體躺着。因此有句話說：『掃羅也在神言人中間麼？』

『萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：我已經折斷了巴比倫王的軛。兩年以內、我必將巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從這地掠到巴比倫去的器皿，就是永恆主殿中的一切器皿、都帶回這地來。我必將猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅和那些到巴比倫去的、猶大一切流亡的人、都帶回這地來，因為我要折斷巴比倫王的軛：這是永恆主發神諭說的。』

哈拿尼雅又當着眾民面前說：『永恆主這麼說：兩年以內、我也必這樣從列國人的脖子上折斷巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的軛。』但神言人耶利米卻逕自走他的路而去。

『萬軍之永恆主發神諭說，當那日我必從這地剪除偶像的名字，叫那些名字不再被記念；假神言人和污穢之靈、我也必從這地除去。將來若再有人傳假神言，生他的父親或母親就須要對他說：『你不該活着，因為你冒永恆主的名說假話」；生他的父親或母親在他傳假神言時、必將他刺透。當那日那些假神言人傳假神言時，個個都必因他所論的異象而蒙羞愧；他們必不再穿毛外衣來欺騙人，他乃是要說：「我不是神言人，我乃是耕地的人；因為我從幼年以來地就是我所有的。」

眾神言人也都這樣傳神言說：『可以上基列的拉末去，取得勝利；永恆主一定將那地交在王手裏。』
