The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand

The next day an evil spirit sent by God came powerfully on Saul. Saul began to prophesy in his house. At that same time David began to play the harp, just as he usually did. Saul was holding a spear.

The next day a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved within his house while David was playing the lyre, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand.

The very next day a tormenting spirit from God overwhelmed Saul, and he began to rave in his house like a madman. David was playing the harp, as he did each day. But Saul had a spear in his hand,

Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul’s hand.

And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied inside the house. So David played music with his hand, as at other times; but there was a spear in Saul’s hand.

一天，掃羅手裡拿著矛正坐在家中，從耶和華那裡來的邪靈降臨在掃羅身上。大衛正在彈琴，

一天，我們又去河邊那個禱告的地方，途中遇到一個被巫鬼附身的女奴。她用占卜為她的主人們賺了不少錢。

耶和華說，『誰願意去引誘亞哈到基列的拉末去送死呢？』眾天軍議論紛紛。後來，有一個靈站出來對耶和華說他願意去。耶和華問他用什麼方法，他說，『我要做謊言之靈，進入他眾先知的口中。』耶和華說，『你必能成功，就這樣做吧。』現在，耶和華已經把謊言之靈放進這些先知口中，耶和華已決意降禍給你。」

每當有邪靈從上帝那裡來到掃羅身上的時候，大衛就為他彈琴，掃羅便覺得舒暢，邪靈也離開了他。

上帝就讓他們是非不辨，去相信那些虛假的謊言，

他們不斷地狂呼亂叫，直到獻晚祭的時候，仍然毫無動靜，沒有半點反應。

我主我王，請聽僕人說，如果是耶和華使你與我作對，願祂悅納我獻上的祭物；如果這是出於人的主意，願他們在耶和華面前受咒詛。因為他們趕我離開耶和華所賜的產業，叫我去服侍外族人的神明。

耶和華的靈離開了掃羅，有個邪靈從耶和華那裡來折磨他。掃羅的臣僕對他說：「現在有個邪靈從上帝那裡來折磨你，你可以吩咐跟前的臣僕去找一個善於彈琴的人來。邪靈從上帝那裡來到你身上的時候，他為你彈琴，你就會好。」

掃羅便去拉瑪的拿約。上帝的靈臨到掃羅，他就一邊走一邊說起預言來，一直到拉瑪的拿約。他脫下自己的衣服，在撒母耳面前說起預言來。他赤身躺了一天一夜。因此有句俗語說：「掃羅也在先知當中嗎？」

「以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，『我必折斷巴比倫王奴役你們的軛。兩年之內，我必把巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從耶和華殿中擄到巴比倫的器皿取回來；我也必把猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅和其他被擄到巴比倫的猶大人帶回來，因為我要折斷巴比倫王奴役你們的軛。這是耶和華說的。』」

然後當眾說：「耶和華說，『兩年之內，我要照樣折斷巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒加在列國頸上的軛。』」於是耶利米先知離開了那裡。

「到那天，我必剷除地上偶像的名號，使它們被人遺忘；我必除去地上的假先知和污穢的靈。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。若有人再說預言，他的親生父母必對他說，『你不得活命，因為你奉耶和華的名說謊。』他說預言的時候，他的親生父母必把他刺死。到那天，先知必因自己所講的異象而羞愧，不再穿著毛皮衣欺騙人。他必說，『我不是先知，我是農夫，我從小便以種田為生。』

所有的先知也都預言說：「去攻打基列的拉末吧，一定得勝，耶和華必將那城交在王的手中。」
