然而主卻站在我旁邊，給我能力，使該宣傳的藉着我都得傳盡，而外國人都聽見，我也得救援、脫離獅子的口。主必援救我脫離各樣兇惡的事，也救護我進他屬天之國。願榮耀歸於他，世世無窮！阿們。

我的上帝差遣了他的使者、封住獅子的口，叫獅子不傷害我；因為我在上帝面前他都見我無辜；在你面前、王啊，我也沒有行過害人的事。』

你必踹着猛獅和虺蛇，踐踏少壯獅子和大蛇。

參孫跟他父母下亭拿去，來到亭拿的葡萄園；忽有一隻少壯獅子向他吼叫着。永恆主的靈大大激動了參孫，參孫便將獅子撕裂，像人撕裂山羊羔一樣，赤手空拳，也沒有將他所作的告訴父母。

蠻野人看見那活物懸在保羅手上，就彼此說：『這個人一定是兇手，他從海裏平安得了救，天理報應還不容他活着。』保羅呢、只把那活物抖在火裏，並沒有受害。他們卻等着他快要發炎腫起來，或是驀然仆倒死去；等了好久，見沒有甚麼怪狀傷害了他，就轉念說他是個神。

耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅、是甲薛有力氣的人，曾行過大有作為的事；他擊殺了摩押兩隻小獅；又在下雪的日子下到坑中去擊殺一隻獅子。
