我的神差遣使者，封住獅子的口，叫獅子不傷我；因我在神面前無辜，我在王面前也沒有行過虧損的事。」

你要踹在獅子和虺蛇的身上，踐踏少壯獅子和大蛇。

參孫跟他父母下亭拿去，到了亭拿的葡萄園，見有一隻少壯獅子向他吼叫。耶和華的靈大大感動參孫，他雖然手無器械，卻將獅子撕裂，如同撕裂山羊羔一樣。他行這事並沒有告訴父母。

土人看見那毒蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：「這人必是個兇手，雖然從海裏救上來，天理還不容他活着。」保羅竟把那毒蛇甩在火裏，並沒有受傷。土人想他必要腫起來，或是忽然仆倒死了；看了多時，見他無害，就轉念，說：「他是個神。」

有甲薛勇士耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅行過大能的事；他殺了摩押人亞利伊勒的兩個兒子，又在下雪的時候下坑裏去，殺了一個獅子，
