The people answered him in agreement with this statement, saying,“ This is what will be done for the man who kills him.”

他們就把剛才的話一一告訴大衛。

於是眾民用以上的那些話回答他說：“如果有人能擊殺他，那人必得這樣的對待。”

人照剛才的話對他說：『若有人擊殺了那人，就可以受到這樣這樣的待遇。』

人們就用先前同樣的話回答他：擊殺這人的，會被如此如此對待。

民如前言對曰、殺此人者、必如是待之、

They repeated to him what they had been saying and told him,“ This is what will be done for the man who kills him.”

The men told David what Israel’s soldiers had been saying. The men told him what would be done for the man who killed Goliath.

And the people answered him in the same way,“ So shall it be done to the man who kills him.”

And these men gave David the same reply. They said,“ Yes, that is the reward for killing him.”

The troops told him about the offer, concluding,“ That is what will be done for the man who kills him.”

And the people answered him in this manner, saying,“ So shall it be done for the man who kills him.”

And the men of Israel said,“ Have you seen this man who is coming up? Surely he is coming up to defy Israel. And it will be that the king will make the man who kills him wealthy with great riches, and will give him his daughter and make his father’s house free in Israel.”
