I defy the armies of Israel today! Send me a man who will fight me!”

那非利士人又说：“我今日向以色列人的军队骂阵。你们叫一个人出来，与我战斗。”

那非利士人又说：“我今日向以色列的军队骂阵。你们叫一个人出来，跟我决斗吧。”

那非利士人又说：“我今日向以色列的军队骂阵。你们叫一个人出来，跟我决斗吧。”

我今天向以色列军队骂阵，你们找一个人出来跟我比个高下吧！”

那非利士人又说：“今天我向以色列人的军队骂阵。你们派一个人出来，我们可以决斗！”

那非利士人又说：“今天我辱骂以色列的军队。你们派一个人到我这里，让我们对战！”

那非利士人又說：「我今日向以色列人的軍隊罵陣。你們叫一個人出來，與我戰鬥。」

那非利士人又說：「我今日向以色列的軍隊罵陣。你們叫一個人出來，跟我決鬥吧。」

那非利士人又說：「我今日向以色列的軍隊罵陣。你們叫一個人出來，跟我決鬥吧。」

我今天向以色列軍隊罵陣，你們找一個人出來跟我比個高下吧！」

那非利士人又說：“今天我向以色列人的軍隊罵陣。你們派一個人出來，我們可以決鬥！”

那非利士人說：『我今天向以色列人罵陣；你們請派一個人到我這裏來，我們可以戰一戰。』

那非利士人又說：「今天我辱罵以色列的軍隊。你們派一個人到我這裡，讓我們對戰！」

又曰、以色列軍旅、今日為我所侮、可遣一人與我戰鬥、

又曰、以色列全軍、今日為我所侮、可使一人出、與我戰鬥。

非利士人又曰、我今日侮辱侮辱或作詈下同以色列隊伍、可使一人出與我戰、

Then the Philistine said,“ This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.”

Goliath continued,“ This day I dare the soldiers of Israel to send a man down to fight against me.”

And the Philistine said,“ I defy the ranks of Israel this day. Give me a man, that we may fight together.”

Then the Philistine said,“ I defy the ranks of Israel today. Send me a man so we can fight each other!”

Then the Philistine said,“ I have defied the ranks of Israel this day! Give me a man, so that we may fight together.”

And the Philistine said,“ I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.”

And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.

Then the Philistine said,“ I defy the ranks of Israel today. Send me a man so we can fight each other!”

And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.

Then the Philistine said,“ I defy Israel’s troops this day! Give me a man so we can fight each other!”

The Philistine said,“ I defy the armies of Israel today! Give me a man, that we may fight together!”

But when he defied and taunted Israel, he was killed by Jonathan, the son of David’s brother Shimea.

I have done this to both lions and bears, and I’ll do it to this pagan Philistine, too, for he has defied the armies of the living God!

David replied to the Philistine,“ You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies— the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

“ Have you seen the giant?” the men asked.“ He comes out each day to defy Israel. The king has offered a huge reward to anyone who kills him. He will give that man one of his daughters for a wife, and the man’s entire family will be exempted from paying taxes!”David asked the soldiers standing nearby,“ What will a man get for killing this Philistine and ending his defiance of Israel? Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?”

But when Sanballat, Tobiah, and Geshem the Arab heard of our plan, they scoffed contemptuously.“ What are you doing? Are you rebelling against the king?” they asked.

Are you as strong as God? Can you thunder with a voice like his?All right, put on your glory and splendor, your honor and majesty.Give vent to your anger. Let it overflow against the proud.Humiliate the proud with a glance; walk on the wicked where they stand.

This was the message Balaam delivered:“ Balak summoned me to come from Aram; the king of Moab brought me from the eastern hills.‘ Come,’ he said,‘ curse Jacob for me! Come and announce Israel’s doom.’But how can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned?

This is what the Lord says:“ Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches.

Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.

“ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.”

For you have judged in my favor; from your throne you have judged with fairness.You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have erased their names forever.
