But the LORD said to Samuel,“ Don’t be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

耶和华却对撒母耳说：“不要看他的外貌和他身材高大，我不拣选他。因为，耶和华不像人看人：人是看外貌；耶和华是看内心。”

耶和华却对撒母耳说：“不要只看他的外貌和他身材高大，我不拣选他。因为耶和华不像人看人，人是看外貌，耶和华是看内心。”

但耶和华对撒母耳说：“不要看他相貌堂堂、身材高大，我要选的不是他。耶和华不像世人那样看人，人看外表，耶和华看内心。”

但耶和华对撒母耳说：“不要看他的外貌和他高大的身材，因为我不拣选他。耶和华看人不像人看人，人是看外表，耶和华是看内心。”

但耶和华对撒母耳说：“不要看他的容貌和他的高大身材，其实我已经厌弃了他。因为我所看的不像人所看的；人是看眼所见的，耶和华是看内心。”

但是永恆主對撒母耳說：『不要注意他的容貌、和他身材的高大；我不取他；因為永恆主人看人、不像人看人：人是看面目，永恆主是看內心。』

但耶和華對撒母耳說：「不要看他的容貌和他的高大身材，其實我已經厭棄了他。因為我所看的不像人所看的；人是看眼所見的，耶和華是看內心。」

耶和華謂之曰、毋觀其容、及軀幹之修偉、此人乃我所擯、蓋耶和華所見、迥異於人、人觀外貌、耶和華則視內心、

耶和華諭撒母耳曰、毋觀其容貌之美、軀幹之高、斯人也非我所簡、我之所見有異於人、人見外貌、我見內心。

主諭撒母耳曰、勿觀其容貌之美、身材之高、此人非我所選、非我所選原文作我所棄也我之所觀、異於人之所觀、人觀外貌、我觀內心、

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not consider how handsome or tall he is. I have not chosen him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outside of a person. But the Lord looks at what is in the heart.”

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

But the LORD said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or his stature because I have rejected him. Humans do not see what the LORD sees, for humans see what is visible, but the LORD sees the heart.”

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God does not see as man sees, since man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for Jehovah seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.

But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look at his appearance or his stature, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the Lord sees the heart.”

But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for[ the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

But Yahweh said to Samuel,“ Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.”

Do not judge according to external appearance, but judge with proper judgment.”

I, the LORD, probe into people’s minds. I examine people’s hearts. I deal with each person according to how he has behaved. I give them what they deserve based on what they have done.

But Jesus said to them,“ You are the ones who justify yourselves in men’s eyes, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized among men is utterly detestable in God’s sight.

but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

“ Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans.

Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised.

All a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion, but the LORD evaluates the motives.

“ And you, Solomon my son, obey the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, for the LORD examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

then listen from your heavenly dwelling place, forgive their sin, and act favorably toward each one based on your evaluation of his motives.( Indeed you are the only one who can correctly evaluate the motives of all people.)

He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior’s strong legs.The LORD takes delight in his faithful followers, and in those who wait for his loyal love.

O LORD who rules over all, you test and prove the righteous. You see into people’s hearts and minds. Pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.

And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

Certainly the LORD watches the whole earth carefully and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him. You have acted foolishly in this matter; from now on you will have war.

You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives.

because some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but his physical presence is weak and his speech is of no account.”

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.

So they ran and brought him from there. When he took his position among the people, he stood head and shoulders above them all.Then Samuel said to all the people,“ Do you see the one whom the LORD has chosen? Indeed, there is no one like him among all the people!” All the people shouted out,“ Long live the king!”

Death and Destruction are before the LORD– how much more the hearts of humans!

He had a son named Saul, a handsome young man. There was no one among the Israelites more handsome than he was; he stood head and shoulders above all the people.

So I said to the LORD,“ O LORD who rules over all, you are a just judge! You examine people’s hearts and minds. I want to see you pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.”

Then they prayed,“ Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosen

So as you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but chosen and priceless in God’s sight,

Now in all Israel everyone acknowledged that there was no man as handsome as Absalom. From the sole of his feet to the top of his head he was perfect in appearance.

May the evil deeds of the wicked come to an end! But make the innocent secure, O righteous God, you who examine inner thoughts and motives!

“ Do you have eyes of flesh, or do you see as a human being sees?

You are looking at outward appearances. If anyone is confident that he belongs to Christ, he should reflect on this again: Just as he himself belongs to Christ, so too do we.
