Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, which[ is] with the sheep.

于是扫罗派遣使者们到耶西那里，说：“把你那与羊群在一起的儿子大卫送到我这里来！”

於是掃羅打發使者去見耶西，說：『請打發你的兒子大衛、那跟着羊羣的、到我這裏來。』

於是掃羅派遣使者們到耶西那裡，說：「把你那與羊群在一起的兒子大衛送到我這裡來！」

掃羅遣使詣耶西曰、爾子大衛、與羊同在、遣至我所、

掃羅遣人至耶西曰、汝子大闢牧羊於野、使詣我所。

掃羅遣人往見耶西曰、使爾牧羊之子大衛、至於我所、

Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse. He said,“ Send me your son David, the one who takes care of your sheep.”

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.”

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say,“ Send me your son David, the shepherd.”

Then Saul dispatched messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say,“ Send me your son David, who is with the flock.”

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, who is with the sheep.

Then Saul dispatched messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is out with the sheep.

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said,“ Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.”

But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Bethlehem.

And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all[ thy] children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.

He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

That he may set[ him] with princes,[ even] with the princes of his people.

So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who[ was] plowing[ with] twelve yoke[ of oxen] before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou[ art but] a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush[ was] not consumed.And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here[ am] I.And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest[ is] holy ground.Moreover he said, I[ am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which[ are] in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I[ was] no prophet, neither[ was] I a prophet’s son; but I[ was] an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.And they straightway left[ their] nets, and followed him.And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James[ the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
