Then Saul dispatched messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

于是扫罗派遣使者们到耶西那里，说：“把你那与羊群在一起的儿子大卫送到我这里来！”

於是掃羅差遣使者去見耶西，說：「請你打發你放羊的兒子大衛到我這裏來。」

於是掃羅差遣使者到耶西那裏，說：「叫你放羊的兒子大衛到我這裏來。」

掃羅便差遣使者去見耶西，說：「請讓你放羊的兒子大衛到我這裡來。」

於是掃羅打發使者去見耶西，說：『請打發你的兒子大衛、那跟着羊羣的、到我這裏來。』

於是掃羅派遣使者們到耶西那裡，說：「把你那與羊群在一起的兒子大衛送到我這裡來！」

掃羅遣使詣耶西曰、爾子大衛、與羊同在、遣至我所、

掃羅遣人至耶西曰、汝子大闢牧羊於野、使詣我所。

掃羅遣人往見耶西曰、使爾牧羊之子大衛、至於我所、

Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse. He said,“ Send me your son David, the one who takes care of your sheep.”

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.”

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say,“ Send me your son David, the shepherd.”

Then Saul dispatched messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say,“ Send me your son David, who is with the flock.”

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said,“ Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”

Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David thy son, who is with the sheep.

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said,“ Send me your son David, who is out with the sheep.

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said,“ Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.”

but David kept going back and forth from Saul to tend his father’s flock in Bethlehem.

Samuel asked him,“ Are these all the sons you have?”“ There is still the youngest,” he answered,“ but right now he’s tending the sheep.” Samuel told Jesse,“ Send for him. We won’t sit down to eat until he gets here.”

He chose David His servant and took him from the sheepfolds;He brought him from tending ewes to be shepherd over His people Jacob— over Israel, His inheritance.He shepherded them with a pure heart and guided them with his skillful hands.

in order to seat them with nobles— with the nobles of His people.

Elijah left there and found Elisha son of Shaphat as he was plowing. Twelve teams of oxen were in front of him, and he was with the twelfth team. Elijah walked by him and threw his mantle over him.

But Saul replied,“ You can’t go fight this Philistine. You’re just a youth, and he’s been a warrior since he was young.”David answered Saul:“ Your servant has been tending his father’s sheep. Whenever a lion or a bear came and carried off a lamb from the flock,

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.Then the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire within a bush. As Moses looked, he saw that the bush was on fire but was not consumed.So Moses thought: I must go over and look at this remarkable sight. Why isn’t the bush burning up?When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called out to him from the bush,“ Moses, Moses!”“ Here I am,” he answered.“ Do not come closer,” He said.“ Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”Then He continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.Then the Lord said,“ I have observed the misery of My people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I know about their sufferings.I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey— the territory of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.The Israelites’ cry for help has come to Me, and I have also seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.Therefore, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh so that you may lead My people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

So Amos answered Amaziah,“ I was not a prophet or the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman, and I took care of sycamore figs.But the Lord took me from following the flock and said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’”

As He was walking along the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.“ Follow Me,” He told them,“ and I will make you fish for people!”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and He called them.Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him.
