One of the servants answered,“ I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.”

One of the servants said,“ I’ve seen someone who knows how to play the harp. He is a son of Jesse from Bethlehem. He’s a brave man. He would make a good soldier. He’s a good speaker. He’s very handsome. And the Lord is with him.”

One of the young men answered,“ Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him.”

One of the servants said to Saul,“ One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that— he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine looking young man, and the Lord is with him.”

One of the young men answered,“ I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is also a valiant man, a warrior, eloquent, handsome, and the LORD is with him.”

Then one of the young men responded and said,“ Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a valiant mighty man, a warrior, skillful in speech, and a handsome man; and the Lord is with him.”

Then one of the servants answered and said,“ Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him.”

Then answered one of the young men, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth- lehemite, that is skilful in playing, and a mighty man of valor, and a man of war, and prudent in speech, and a comely person; and Jehovah is with him.

One of the young men answered,“ I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is also a valiant man, a warrior, eloquent, handsome, and the Lord is with him.”

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite,[ that is] cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD[ is] with him.

Then one of the young men answered, and said,“ Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and Yahweh is with him.”

Samuel continued to grow, and the LORD was with him. None of his prophecies fell to the ground unfulfilled.

David said to Saul,“ Don’t let anyone be discouraged. Your servant will go and fight this Philistine!”But Saul replied to David,“ You aren’t able to go against this Philistine and fight him! You’re just a boy! He has been a warrior from his youth!”David replied to Saul,“ Your servant has been a shepherd for his father’s flock. Whenever a lion or bear would come and carry off a sheep from the flock,I would go out after it, strike it down, and rescue the sheep from its mouth. If it rose up against me, I would grab it by its jaw, strike it, and kill it.Your servant has struck down both the lion and the bear. This uncircumcised Philistine will be just like one of them. For he has defied the armies of the living God!”

The warden did not concern himself with anything that was in Joseph’s care because the LORD was with him and whatever he was doing the LORD was making successful.

The LORD was with Joseph. He was successful and lived in the household of his Egyptian master.

If that happens even the bravest soldier– one who is lion-hearted– will virtually melt away. For all Israel knows that your father is a warrior and that those who are with him are brave.

“ When these signs have taken place, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God will be with you.

teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Your servant Joab did this so as to change this situation. But my lord has wisdom like that of the angel of God, and knows everything that is happening in the land.”

“ Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him Emmanuel,” which means“ God with us.”

Hushai went on to say,“ You know your father and his men– they are soldiers and are as dangerous as a bear out in the wild that has been robbed of her cubs. Your father is an experienced soldier; he will not stay overnight with the army.

So Saul feared David, because the LORD was with him but had departed from Saul.Saul removed David from his presence and made him a commanding officer. David led the army out to battle and back.Now David achieved success in all he did, for the LORD was with him.
