Yahweh said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角，我差遣你往伯利恒人耶西那里去；因为我在他众子之内，预定一个作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角；来，我差遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他儿子中已看中了一个为我作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角；来，我差遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他儿子中已看中了一个为我作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我已经拒绝让扫罗做以色列王了，你还要为他哀伤多久呢？把你的角盛满膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恒的耶西那里，我已选了他的一个儿子做王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲哀要到几时呢？我已经弃绝他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛满了角，然后去吧！我要差派你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他的众子中，已经预定了一个为我作王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲恸要到什么时候呢？我已经厌弃他作以色列的王。你把犄角装满膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里，因为我在他的儿子中选定了一个王。”

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角，我差遣你往伯利恆人耶西那裏去；因為我在他眾子之內，預定一個作王的。」

耶和華對撒母耳說：“你為掃羅悲哀要到幾時呢？我已經棄絕他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛滿了角，然後去吧！我要差派你到伯利恆人耶西那裡去，因為我在他的眾子中，已經預定了一個為我作王。”

永恆主對撒母耳說：『我棄絕了掃羅做以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？把你的角盛滿了膏油吧！來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他的兒子當中已經看定了一個作王的。』

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你為掃羅悲慟要到什麼時候呢？我已經厭棄他作以色列的王。你把犄角裝滿膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裡，因為我在他的兒子中選定了一個王。」

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、我既棄掃羅、不使為以色列王、爾為之懷憂、伊於胡底、可盛膏於角而往、我將遣爾詣伯利恆人耶西、其眾子中、我簡其一為王、

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、掃羅為以色列王、我不永其祚、汝為懷憂、伊於何底。可盛膏於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西所、其眾子中我簡其一、立之為王。

謂撒母耳曰、爾為掃羅而憂、伊於何底、我已棄之、不容其為以色列王、今以膏盛於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西家、我於其眾子中選其一、立之為王、

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you be filled with sorrow because of Saul? I have refused to have him as king over Israel. Fill your animal horn with olive oil and go on your way. I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected for myself a king from his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth- lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected a king from his sons.”

And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death; for Samuel mourned for Saul: and Yahweh grieved that he had made Saul king over Israel.

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you; for now Yahweh would have established your kingdom on Israel forever.But now your kingdom will not continue. Yahweh has sought for himself a man after his own heart, and Yahweh has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which Yahweh commanded you.”

Then Samuel took the vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said,“ Hasn’t Yahweh anointed you to be prince over his inheritance?

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Because you have rejected Yahweh’s word, he has also rejected you from being king.”

Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him,“ Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

“ Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He will save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come to me.”

Again, Isaiah says,“ There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”

“ Judah, your brothers will praise you. Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies. Your father’s sons will bow down before you.Judah is a lion’s cub. From the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down, he crouched as a lion, as a lioness. Who will rouse him up?The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs. To him will the obedience of the peoples be.

Samuel said to Saul,“ I will not return with you; for you have rejected Yahweh’s word, and Yahweh has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

The women, her neighbors, gave him a name, saying,“ A son is born to Naomi”. They named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.Now this is the history of the generations of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron,and Hezron became the father of Ram, and Ram became the father of Amminadab,and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon became the father of Salmon,and Salmon became the father of Boaz, and Boaz became the father of Obed,and Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David.

But chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion which he loved.He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he has established forever.He also chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;from following the ewes that have their young, he brought him to be the shepherd of Jacob, his people, and Israel, his inheritance.

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.

Saul’s servants said to him,“ See now, an evil spirit from God troubles you.

“ It grieves me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; and he cried to Yahweh all night.

A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.

Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said,“ I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,

He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him,“ Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,‘ I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

Ram became the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;and Nahshon became the father of Salma, and Salma became the father of Boaz,and Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse;and Jesse became the father of his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third,Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;

Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say,‘ Yahweh says,“ I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”

Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified,‘ I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

When the spirit from God was on Saul, David took the harp, and played with his hand; so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

“ Therefore don’t pray for this people. Don’t lift up cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry to me because of their trouble.

“ Therefore don’t pray for this people. Don’t lift up a cry or prayer for them or make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.

Yahweh said to me,“ Don’t pray for this people for their good.When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and meal offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”

Then Yahweh said to me,“ Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not turn toward this people. Cast them out of my sight, and let them go out!

Men will call them rejected silver, because Yahweh has rejected them.”
