The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角，我差遣你往伯利恒人耶西那里去；因为我在他众子之内，预定一个作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角；来，我差遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他儿子中已看中了一个为我作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角；来，我差遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他儿子中已看中了一个为我作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我已经拒绝让扫罗做以色列王了，你还要为他哀伤多久呢？把你的角盛满膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恒的耶西那里，我已选了他的一个儿子做王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲哀要到几时呢？我已经弃绝他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛满了角，然后去吧！我要差派你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他的众子中，已经预定了一个为我作王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲恸要到什么时候呢？我已经厌弃他作以色列的王。你把犄角装满膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里，因为我在他的儿子中选定了一个王。”

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角，我差遣你往伯利恆人耶西那裏去；因為我在他眾子之內，預定一個作王的。」

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角；來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他兒子中已看中了一個為我作王的。」

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角；來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他兒子中已看中了一個為我作王的。」

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我已經拒絕讓掃羅做以色列王了，你還要為他哀傷多久呢？把你的角盛滿膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恆的耶西那裡，我已選了他的一個兒子做王。」

耶和華對撒母耳說：“你為掃羅悲哀要到幾時呢？我已經棄絕他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛滿了角，然後去吧！我要差派你到伯利恆人耶西那裡去，因為我在他的眾子中，已經預定了一個為我作王。”

永恆主對撒母耳說：『我棄絕了掃羅做以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？把你的角盛滿了膏油吧！來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他的兒子當中已經看定了一個作王的。』

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你為掃羅悲慟要到什麼時候呢？我已經厭棄他作以色列的王。你把犄角裝滿膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裡，因為我在他的兒子中選定了一個王。」

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、我既棄掃羅、不使為以色列王、爾為之懷憂、伊於胡底、可盛膏於角而往、我將遣爾詣伯利恆人耶西、其眾子中、我簡其一為王、

耶和華謂撒母耳曰、掃羅為以色列王、我不永其祚、汝為懷憂、伊於何底。可盛膏於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西所、其眾子中我簡其一、立之為王。

謂撒母耳曰、爾為掃羅而憂、伊於何底、我已棄之、不容其為以色列王、今以膏盛於角、我將遣爾至伯利恆人耶西家、我於其眾子中選其一、立之為王、

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you be filled with sorrow because of Saul? I have refused to have him as king over Israel. Fill your animal horn with olive oil and go on your way. I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected for myself a king from his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth- lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected a king from his sons.”

And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

Yahweh said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”

And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, but Samuel grieved over Saul. And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.

And Samuel said to Saul,“ You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God, with which he commanded you. For then the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head and kissed him and said,“ Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their surrounding enemies. And this shall be the sign to you that the Lord has anointed you to be prince over his heritage.

For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”

Then Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him,“ Tie up your garments, and take this flask of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead.

“ Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have seen my people, because their cry has come to me.”

And again Isaiah says,“ The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”

“ Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down before you.Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him?The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

And Samuel said to Saul,“ I will not return with you. For you have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you from being king over Israel.”

And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying,“ A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.Now these are the generations of Perez: Perez fathered Hezron,Hezron fathered Ram, Ram fathered Amminadab,Amminadab fathered Nahshon, Nahshon fathered Salmon,Salmon fathered Boaz, Boaz fathered Obed,Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David.

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loves.He built his sanctuary like the high heavens, like the earth, which he has founded forever.He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds;from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance.

Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples.

And Saul’s servants said to him,“ Behold now, a harmful spirit from God is tormenting you.

“ I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the Lord all night.

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one, and said:“ I have granted help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.I have found David, my servant; with my holy oil I have anointed him,

So he arose and went into the house. And the young man poured the oil on his head, saying to him,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, I anoint you king over the people of the Lord, over Israel.

In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples— of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

Ram fathered Amminadab, and Amminadab fathered Nahshon, prince of the sons of Judah.Nahshon fathered Salmon, Salmon fathered Boaz,Boaz fathered Obed, Obed fathered Jesse.Jesse fathered Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,Ozem the sixth, David the seventh.

Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say,‘ Thus says the Lord, I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.”

Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said,‘ I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’

And whenever the harmful spirit from God was upon Saul, David took the lyre and played it with his hand. So Saul was refreshed and was well, and the harmful spirit departed from him.

“ Therefore do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble.

“ As for you, do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with me, for I will not hear you.

The Lord said to me:“ Do not pray for the welfare of this people.Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, and though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.”

Then the Lord said to me,“ Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go!

Rejected silver they are called, for the Lord has rejected them.”
