耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角，我差遣你往伯利恒人耶西那里去；因为我在他众子之内，预定一个作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我既厌弃扫罗作以色列的王，你为他悲伤要到几时呢？你将膏油盛满了角；来，我差遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他儿子中已看中了一个为我作王的。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“我已经拒绝让扫罗做以色列王了，你还要为他哀伤多久呢？把你的角盛满膏油，我要差遣你到伯利恒的耶西那里，我已选了他的一个儿子做王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲哀要到几时呢？我已经弃绝他作以色列的王了。你把膏油盛满了角，然后去吧！我要差派你到伯利恒人耶西那里去，因为我在他的众子中，已经预定了一个为我作王。”

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你为扫罗悲恸要到什么时候呢？我已经厌弃他作以色列的王。你把犄角装满膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恒人耶西那里，因为我在他的儿子中选定了一个王。”

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角，我差遣你往伯利恆人耶西那裏去；因為我在他眾子之內，預定一個作王的。」

永恆主對撒母耳說：『我棄絕了掃羅做以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？把你的角盛滿了膏油吧！來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他的兒子當中已經看定了一個作王的。』

耶和華對撒母耳說：「你為掃羅悲慟要到什麼時候呢？我已經厭棄他作以色列的王。你把犄角裝滿膏油，去吧，我要派遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裡，因為我在他的兒子中選定了一個王。」

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you be filled with sorrow because of Saul? I have refused to have him as king over Israel. Fill your animal horn with olive oil and go on your way. I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected for myself a king from his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

And Jehovah said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and go: I will send thee to Jesse the Beth- lehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem because I have selected a king from his sons.”

And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

The LORD said to Samuel,“ How long do you intend to mourn for Saul? I have rejected him as king over Israel. Fill your horn with olive oil and go! I am sending you to Jesse in Bethlehem, for I have selected a king for myself from among his sons.”

Yahweh said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite; for I have provided a king for myself among his sons.”

Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel. (niv)

“ You have done a foolish thing,” Samuel said.“ You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.But now your kingdom will not endure; the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” (niv)

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him, saying,“ Has not the Lord anointed you ruler over his inheritance? (niv)

For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.” (niv)

The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him,“ Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead. (niv)

“ About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him ruler over my people Israel; he will deliver them from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has reached me.” (niv)

And again, Isaiah says,“ The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.” (niv)

“ Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.You are a lion’s cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness— who dares to rouse him?The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his. (niv)

But Samuel said to him,“ I will not go back with you. You have rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected you as king over Israel!” (niv)

The women living there said,“ Naomi has a son!” And they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.This, then, is the family line of Perez: Perez was the father of Hezron,Hezron the father of Ram, Ram the father of Amminadab,Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,Salmon the father of Boaz, Boaz the father of Obed,Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of David. (niv)

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that he established forever.He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens;from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance. (niv)

See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. (niv)

Saul’s attendants said to him,“ See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. (niv)

“ I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions.” Samuel was angry, and he cried out to the Lord all that night. (niv)

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. (niv)

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said:“ I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. (niv)

Jehu got up and went into the house. Then the prophet poured the oil on Jehu’s head and declared,“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ I anoint you king over the Lord’s people Israel. (niv)

In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. (niv)

Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, the leader of the people of Judah.Nahshon was the father of Salmon, Salmon the father of Boaz,Boaz the father of Obed and Obed the father of Jesse.Jesse was the father of Eliab his firstborn; the second son was Abinadab, the third Shimea,the fourth Nethanel, the fifth Raddai,the sixth Ozem and the seventh David. (niv)

Then take the flask and pour the oil on his head and declare,‘ This is what the Lord says: I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and run; don’t delay!” (niv)

Then the people asked for a king, and he gave them Saul son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him:‘ I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ (niv)

Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him. (niv)

“ Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress. (niv)

“ So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you. (niv)

Then the Lord said to me,“ Do not pray for the well-being of this people.Although they fast, I will not listen to their cry; though they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will destroy them with the sword, famine and plague.” (niv)

Then the Lord said to me:“ Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from my presence! Let them go! (niv)

They are called rejected silver, because the Lord has rejected them.” (niv)
