Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.

永恆主對撒母耳說：『我棄絕了掃羅做以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？把你的角盛滿了膏油吧！來，我差遣你到伯利恆人耶西那裏去，因為我在他的兒子當中已經看定了一個作王的。』

『我設立掃羅為王、我後悔了，因為他退轉而不跟從我，不實行我吩咐的話。』撒母耳很着急，終夜向永恆主哀呼。

到了那裏，他也就把衣服脫下來，也就在撒母耳面前受感動而發神言狂；那一整天一整夜他赤身裸體躺着。因此有句話說：『掃羅也在神言人中間麼？』

永恆主就後悔造了人在地上，心中憂傷。

因為有許多人、就是我屢次告訴你們、如今竟流着眼淚告訴你們的：他們的行事為人、就是基督十字架的仇敵。

我的眼直流着淚水河，因為人們不遵守你的律法。

我怎樣地大有憂愁、心裏不住的傷痛。為我弟兄、我骨肉之親、我巴不得被革除、和基督隔絕呢！

我看見背信的人就討厭；因為你的訓言他們不遵守。

哦，願我的頭為水，願我的眼為眼淚之泉源，我好為我子民中被刺死的人晝夜哭泣。但願我在曠野有行路人住宿的地方，使我可以放下我的人民而離開他們；因為他們都是行姦淫的、是行詭詐的一幫。
