巴蘭觀看亞瑪力，就題起詩歌說：亞瑪力原為諸國之首，但他終必沉淪。

又用刀將祭司城挪伯中的男女、孩童、吃奶的，和牛、羊、驢盡都殺滅。

這城和其中所有的都要在耶和華面前毀滅；只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所打發的使者。至於你們，務要謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，恐怕你們取了那當滅的物就連累以色列的全營，使全營受咒詛。惟有金子、銀子，和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，必入耶和華的庫中。」於是百姓呼喊，祭司也吹角。百姓聽見角聲，便大聲呼喊，城牆就塌陷，百姓便上去進城，各人往前直上，將城奪取；又將城中所有的，不拘男女老少，牛羊和驢，都用刀殺盡。

所以，你們要把一切的男孩和所有已嫁的女子都殺了。

又對亞當說：你既聽從妻子的話，吃了我所吩咐你不可吃的那樹上的果子，地必為你的緣故受咒詛；你必終身勞苦才能從地裏得吃的。地必給你長出荊棘和蒺藜來；你也要吃田間的菜蔬。

先人既有罪孽，就要預備殺戮他的子孫，免得他們興起來，得了遍地，在世上修滿城邑。萬軍之耶和華說：我必興起攻擊他們，將巴比倫的名號和所餘剩的人，連子帶孫一併剪除。這是耶和華說的。

你必要用刀殺那城裏的居民，把城裏所有的，連牲畜，都用刀殺盡。你從那城裏所奪的財物都要堆積在街市上，用火將城和其內所奪的財物都在耶和華－你神面前燒盡；那城就永為荒堆，不可再建造。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代；

「但一切永獻的，就是人從他所有永獻給耶和華的，無論是人，是牲畜，是他承受為業的地，都不可賣，也不可贖。凡永獻的是歸給耶和華為至聖。凡從人中當滅的都不可贖，必被治死。」

因為受造之物服在虛空之下，不是自己願意，乃是因那叫他如此的。但受造之物仍然指望脫離敗壞的轄制，得享神兒女自由的榮耀。我們知道，一切受造之物一同歎息，勞苦，直到如今。
