要把这座城和城里所有的东西毁灭，作为献给耶和华之物。只有妓女喇合和她家中所有的人可以活命，因为她曾把我们派去的探子隐藏起来。你们要小心，不可私拿任何应当毁灭的东西，免得你们自取灭亡，并给以色列全营带来灾祸。要把所有的金银和铜铁器皿分别出来献给耶和华，放进耶和华的库房里。”于是，民众听到号角声时，就高声呐喊，城墙便坍塌了。民众便一拥而上，占领了耶利哥城，用刀杀了城里所有的男女老少、牛羊和驴。

现在，你们要杀掉所有的男孩以及与男人发生过关系的女子，

耶和华上帝又对亚当说：“因为你听从妻子的话，吃了我吩咐你不可吃的果子，地必因你而受咒诅。你必终生艰辛劳苦，才能吃到地里出产的食物。地必给你长出荆棘和蒺藜，你要吃田间长出来的菜蔬。

预备杀戮他的子孙吧，因为他们的祖先罪恶深重，免得他们兴起统治世界、到处建造城邑。”万军之耶和华说：“我必攻击巴比伦，铲除巴比伦的名号、余民和后裔。这是耶和华说的。

你们一定要杀光那城中的居民和牲畜。你们要把城中的财物堆在广场中心，然后放火焚烧那城和城中的财物，作为燔祭献给你们的上帝耶和华。城要永远荒废，不可重建。

不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。

凡永远献上的，不论是人、牲畜或是田产，都不可卖掉，也不可赎回，因为这一切都属于耶和华，是至圣的。凡永远献上的人不可被赎回，必须被处死。

因为受造之物处在虚空之下并非出于情愿，而是出于上帝的旨意。不过，受造之物仍然盼望脱离衰亡之律的奴役，享受上帝儿女荣耀的自由。我们知道一切受造之物至今都在呻吟，如同经历分娩之痛。
