撒母耳对他说：“今日耶和华使以色列国与你断绝，把这国赐给另一个比你更好的人。

Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors— to one better than you.

And Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

耶和华照他藉我所说的话为他自己实现了。耶和华已经从你手里夺去国权，赐给别人，就是大卫。因为你没有听从耶和华的话，没有执行他对亚玛力人的恼怒，所以今日耶和华向你做这事。

亚希雅拿起穿在自己身上的新衣，把它撕成十二片，对耶罗波安说：“你可以拿十片。耶和华—以色列的神如此说：‘看哪，我必从所罗门手里撕裂这国，把十个支派赐给你。

在上有权柄的，人人要顺服，因为没有权柄不是来自神的。掌权的都是神所立的。

他废了扫罗之后，就兴起大卫作他们的王，又为他作见证说：‘我寻得耶西的儿子大卫，他是合我心意的人，他要遵行我一切的旨意。’

耶稣回答他：“若不是从上头赐给你的，你就毫无权柄办我，所以，把我交给你的那人罪更重了。”

现在你的国度必不长久。耶和华已经寻着一个合他心意的人，立他作百姓的君王，因为你没有遵守耶和华所吩咐你的。”

耶西就派人去叫他来。他面色红润，双目清秀，容貌俊美。耶和华说：“起来，膏他，因为这就是他了。”

我用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造大地和地上的人民、牲畜。我看给谁合适，就把地给谁。现在我将全地都交在我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒手中，也把野地的走兽给他使用。

耶和华使人贫穷，也使人富足；使人降卑，也使人升高。他从灰尘里抬举贫寒人，从粪堆中提拔贫穷人，使他们与贵族同坐，继承荣耀的座位。地的柱子属耶和华，他将世界立在其上。

这是众守望者所发的命令，是众圣者所作的决定，好叫世人知道至高者在人的国中掌权，要将国赐给谁就赐给谁，并且立极卑微的人执掌国权。’

你必被赶出离开世人，与野地的走兽同住，吃草如牛，且要经过七个时期；等你知道至高者在人的国中掌权，要将国赐给谁就赐给谁。”
