Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors— to one better than you.

Samuel said to Saul,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel away from you today. He has given it to one of your neighbors. He has given it to someone better than you.

And Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

And Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to someone else— one who is better than you.

Samuel said to him,“ The LORD has torn the kingship of Israel away from you today and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

永恆主已照由我經手所說的話來辦你；永恆主已從你手中撕去了國權，給你鄰近的人大衛。因為你沒有聽永恆主的聲音，沒有向亞瑪力人執行永恆主的烈怒，永恆主今天才向你行這樣的事。

亞希雅一把抓住自己身上的新衣裳，就撕成十二片；對耶羅波安說：『你拿十片去；因為永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：「看吧，我必從所羅門手裏將國撕裂開來、將十個族派賜給你。（

居上位有政權的、人人都當順服。因為沒有政權不是出於上帝的：一切政權都由上帝所定。

又廢了掃羅，給他們舉起了大衛來做王，並為大衛作證說：「我尋得了耶西的兒子大衛、一個合我心意的人，他必實行我一切的旨意。」

耶穌回答說：『若不是從上頭給了你，你就毫無權柄辦我；故此那把我送交給你的、犯了更大的罪。』

但現在你的王位必立不住了；永恆主已經為自己找到一個合他心意的人；永恆主已經委任他做人君來管理他的人民，因為你沒有遵守永恆主所吩咐你的。』

耶西就打發人去領他來：他臉色赤紅：雙目清秀，丰采俊美。永恆主說：『這一個就是了；你起來膏他。』

『是我用大能力和伸出的膀臂造了大地和地面上的人及牲口；我看誰適當，就把地給誰。現在呢、是我將這些都交給我僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手；田野間的走獸呢、我也給他、供他使用。

永恆主使人窮乏，也使人富足；使人降低，也使人升高。他抬舉了貧寒人出灰塵，提拔了窮苦人出灰堆，使他們和王子同坐，承繼榮顯的座位；地的柱子屬於永恆主；他將世界立在那上面。

這件事乃是由那些警衛者所發的命令；這事情是由那些聖者所傳的話，好叫眾生知道：至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰、就賜給誰；或是立極卑微的人執掌國權。」

你必被趕逐離開人類，你的住處必同山野的走獸在一起；你必受迫而喫草如牛，經過七個時期，等到你承認至高者在人國中掌權，他喜歡將國賜給誰，就賜給誰。』
