撒母耳就对他说：“今天耶和华把以色列国从你身上撕裂，赐给比你更好的人。

Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors— to one better than you.

And Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

耶和华已经照着他藉我所说的话行了，他把王国从你手中夺去，赐给别人，就是大卫。因为你没有听从耶和华的话，没有执行他对亚玛力人所怀的烈怒，所以今天耶和华向你行了这样的事，

亚希雅拿着自己身上所穿的新衣，把它撕成十二片，对耶罗波安说：“你拿十片去吧！因为耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘看哪，我必从所罗门的手里把国夺去，把十个支派赐给你。

政府的权柄，人人都应当服从。因为没有一样权柄不是从神来的；掌权的都是神设立的。

废去扫罗之后，又为他们兴起大卫作王，并且为他作证说：‘我找到耶西的儿子大卫，他是合我心意的人，必遵行我的一切旨意。’

耶稣说：“如果不是从天上给你权柄，你就无权办我；因此，把我交给你的那人，罪更重了。”

但现在你的王位必不长久，耶和华已经为自己找到一个合他心意的人，立他作自己子民的领袖，因为你没有谨守耶和华所吩咐你的。”

耶西就派人去把大卫带回来。他面色红润，眼目清秀，外貌英俊。耶和华说：“就是这一个，你起来膏立他吧！”

是我用大能和伸出来的膀臂创造了大地，以及地面上的人和兽；我看给谁适合，就把地给谁。现在我已经亲自把这一切国家都交在我仆人巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的手中，连田野的走兽，我也交给他，供他奴役。

耶和华使人贫穷，也使人富足；使人降卑，也使人升高。他从灰尘中抬举贫寒的人，从粪堆中提拔穷乏的人，使他们与显贵同坐，承受尊贵的座位。大地的柱子属于耶和华，他把全地安放在柱子上面。

这是守望者宣告的裁决，是圣者颁布的决定，好使世人都知道：至高者在世人的国中掌权，他喜欢把国赐给谁，就赐给谁，甚至立最卑微的人执掌国权。

你必被赶逐，离开人群，和野地的走兽同住；你必像牛一样吃草，要经过七年的时期；等到你承认至高者在世人的国中掌权，他喜欢把国赐给谁，就赐给谁。”
