And Samuel told him,“ Although you may think little of yourself, are you not the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord has anointed you king of Israel.

撒母耳说：“虽然你从前觉得自己微不足道，但现在却做了以色列各支派的首领。耶和华膏立你做以色列的王。

撒母耳说：“从前你虽然自以为微小，不是作了以色列众支派的首领吗？耶和华膏立了你作以色列的王，

撒母耳说：“虽然你看自己微小，但你难道不是以色列众支派的首领吗？耶和华膏立你为以色列的王。

撒母耳說：「雖然你從前覺得自己微不足道，但現在卻做了以色列各支派的首領。耶和華膏立你做以色列的王。

撒母耳說：『你雖曾自看為微小，你豈不是以色列族派的元首麼？永恆主膏立了你為王來管理以色列；

撒母耳說：「雖然你看自己微小，但你難道不是以色列眾支派的首領嗎？耶和華膏立你為以色列的王。

撒母耳曰、昔爾自視雖微、非立為以色列支派之長乎、耶和華膏爾為以色列王、

撒母耳曰、昔爾自視甚微、耶和華簡爾為支派之長、以膏沐爾、立為以色列族王。

撒母耳曰、昔爾自視甚微時、得選為昔爾自視甚微時得選為或作爾雖自視甚微仍為以色列諸支派之元首、主已膏爾立為以色列之王、

Samuel said,“ Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel.

Samuel said,“ There was a time when you didn’t think you were important. But you became the leader of the tribes of Israel. The Lord anointed you to be king over Israel.

And Samuel said,“ Though you are little in your own eyes, are you not the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel.

Samuel continued,“ Although you once considered yourself unimportant, haven’t you become the leader of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel

So Samuel said,“ Is it not true, though you were insignificant in your own eyes, that you became the head of the tribes of Israel? For the Lord anointed you as king over Israel.

So Samuel said,“ When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the Lord anoint you king over Israel?

And Samuel said, Though thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? And Jehovah anointed thee king over Israel;

Samuel continued,“ Although you once considered yourself unimportant, have you not become the leader of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel

And Samuel said, When thou[ wast] little in thine own sight,[ wast] thou not[ made] the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

Samuel said,“ Is it not true that when you were insignificant in your own eyes, you became head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD chose you as king over Israel.

Samuel said,“ Though you were little in your own sight, weren’t you made the head of the tribes of Israel? Yahweh anointed you king over Israel;

Saul replied,“ But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?”

Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said,“ I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.

So they asked the Lord,“ Where is he?” And the Lord replied,“ He is hiding among the baggage.”

“ But Lord,” Gideon replied,“ how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”

So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

One day Samuel said to Saul,“ It was the Lord who told me to anoint you as king of his people, Israel. Now listen to this message from the Lord!This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt.Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation— men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and donkeys.”

When the tribe of Ephraim spoke, the people shook with fear, for that tribe was important in Israel. But the people of Ephraim sinned by worshiping Baal and thus sealed their destruction.
