Jonathan said,“ Come on, then; we will cross over toward them and let them see us.

Jonathan said,“ Come on, then. We’ll go across the pass toward the Philistines and let them see us.

Then Jonathan said,“ Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.

“ All right, then,” Jonathan told him.“ We will cross over and let them see us.

Then Jonathan said,“ Behold, we are going to cross over to the men and reveal ourselves to them.

Then Jonathan said,“ Very well, let us cross over to these men, and we will show ourselves to them.

Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will disclose ourselves unto them.

“ All right,” Jonathan replied,“ we’ll cross over to the men and then let them see us.

Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto[ these] men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.

Jonathan replied,“ All right! We’ll go over to these men and fight them.

Then Jonathan said,“ Behold, we will pass over to the men, and we will reveal ourselves to them.

That night the LORD said to him,“ Get up and attack the camp, for I have handed it over to you.But if you are afraid to attack the camp, go down with Purah your servant.Listen to what they say, and then you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the troops who were in the camp.Now the Midianites, Amalekites, and all the people of the east had settled down in the valley like a swarm of locusts, and their camels were as innumerable as the sand on the seashore.When Gideon arrived, there was a man telling his friend about a dream. He said,“ Listen, I had a dream: a loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp, struck a tent, and it fell. The loaf turned the tent upside down so that it collapsed.”His friend answered,“ This is nothing less than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has handed the entire Midianite camp over to him.”
