Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

Now the men of Israel were pressed to exhaustion that day, because Saul had placed them under an oath, saying,“ Let a curse fall on anyone who eats before evening— before I have full revenge on my enemies.” So no one ate anything all day,

and the men of Israel were worn out that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath:“ The man who eats food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies is cursed.” So none of the troops tasted any food.

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and before I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

「『凡製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像，無論是雕刻的，是鑄造的，就是工匠用手造的，或暗中設置的，這人必受詛咒！』眾百姓要回應說：『阿們！』「『輕慢父母的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『挪移鄰舍地界的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『引領瞎子走錯路的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『對寄居的、孤兒和寡婦屈枉正直的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『與繼母同寢的，必受詛咒！因為他掀開父親衣服的下邊。』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『與獸交合的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『與同父異母，或同母異父的姊妹同寢的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『與岳母同寢的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『暗中擊殺鄰舍的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『受賄賂擊殺人而流無辜之血的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』「『不堅守遵行這律法之話的，必受詛咒！』眾百姓要說：『阿們！』」

以色列人在米斯巴曾起誓說：「我們中誰都不把女兒嫁給便雅憫人。」以色列人來到伯特利，坐在那裏直到晚上，在上帝面前放聲大哭，說：「耶和華－以色列的上帝啊，為何以色列中會發生這樣的事，使以色列今日缺了一個支派呢？」次日，百姓清早起來，在那裏築了一座壇，獻燔祭和平安祭。以色列人說：「以色列各支派中，誰沒有同會眾一起上到耶和華那裏呢？」因為以色列人曾起重誓說：「凡不上米斯巴到耶和華那裏的，必被處死。」

「以色列有領袖率領，百姓甘心犧牲自己，你們當稱頌耶和華！

以色列強盛的時候，就叫迦南人做苦工，沒有把他們全然趕走。

這位上帝為我伸冤，使萬民服在我以下。

約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫百姓起誓，所以他伸出手中的杖，以杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，用手取回送入口內，他的眼睛就明亮了。百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃東西的人必受詛咒；因此百姓就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親給這地添麻煩了。你們看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。今日百姓若隨意吃了從仇敵奪來的東西，現在擊殺的非利士人豈不更多嗎？」

若有人不愛主，這人該受詛咒。主啊，願你來！

凡從人中永獻作當滅的都不可贖，必被處死。

以色列向耶和華許願說：「你若把這百姓真的交在我手中，我就把他們的城鎮徹底毀滅。」

這城和其中所有的都要永獻給耶和華作當毀滅的，只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所派的使者。但你們務必謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，免得你們受詛咒，取了那當滅的物，使以色列全營成為詛咒而遭受災禍。只有金子、銀子和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，放入耶和華的庫房中。」

耶弗他向耶和華許願，說：「你若真的將亞捫人交在我手中，我從亞捫人那裏平平安安回來的時候，無論誰先從我家門出來迎接我，就要歸給耶和華，我必將他獻上作為燔祭。」
