當日掃羅與民發誓、曰、毋食餱糧、迨夕乃可、犯者見詛、俟我盡報斯仇。因此以色列族不嘗食物、困憊特甚。

Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

Now the men of Israel were pressed to exhaustion that day, because Saul had placed them under an oath, saying,“ Let a curse fall on anyone who eats before evening— before I have full revenge on my enemies.” So no one ate anything all day,

and the men of Israel were worn out that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath:“ The man who eats food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies is cursed.” So none of the troops tasted any food.

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and before I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

我可以證明，他們向神有熱心，但不是按着真知識；

不虔敬的人用口敗壞鄰舍；義人卻因知識得救。

「『有人製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像，或雕刻，或鑄造，就是工匠手所做的，在暗中設立，那人必受咒詛！』百姓都要答應說：『阿們！』「『輕慢父母的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『挪移鄰舍地界的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『使瞎子走差路的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『向寄居的和孤兒寡婦屈枉正直的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『與繼母行淫的，必受咒詛！因為掀開他父親的衣襟。』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『與獸淫合的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『與異母同父，或異父同母的姊妹行淫的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『與岳母行淫的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『暗中殺人的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『受賄賂害死無辜之人的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』「『不堅守遵行這律法言語的，必受咒詛！』百姓都要說：『阿們！』」

以色列人在米斯巴曾起誓說：「我們都不將女兒給便雅憫人為妻。」以色列人來到伯特利，坐在神面前直到晚上，放聲痛哭，說：「耶和華－以色列的神啊，為何以色列中有這樣缺了一支派的事呢？」次日清早，百姓起來，在那裏築了一座壇，獻燔祭和平安祭。以色列人彼此問說：「以色列各支派中，誰沒有同會眾上到耶和華面前來呢？」先是以色列人起過大誓說，凡不上米斯巴到耶和華面前來的，必將他治死。

因為以色列中有軍長率領，百姓也甘心犧牲自己，你們應當頌讚耶和華！

及至以色列強盛了，就使迦南人做苦工，沒有把他們全然趕出。

這位神，就是那為我伸冤、使眾民服在我以下的。

約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫百姓起誓，所以伸手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裏，轉手送入口內，眼睛就明亮了。百姓中有一人對他說：「你父親曾叫百姓嚴嚴地起誓說，今日吃甚麼的，必受咒詛；因此百姓就疲乏了。」約拿單說：「我父親連累你們了。你看，我嘗了這一點蜜，眼睛就明亮了。今日百姓若任意吃了從仇敵所奪的物，擊殺的非利士人豈不更多嗎？」

若有人不愛主，這人可詛可咒。主必要來！

凡從人中當滅的都不可贖，必被治死。」

以色列人向耶和華發願說：「你若將這民交付我手，我就把他們的城邑盡行毀滅。」

這城和其中所有的都要在耶和華面前毀滅；只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所打發的使者。至於你們，務要謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，恐怕你們取了那當滅的物就連累以色列的全營，使全營受咒詛。惟有金子、銀子，和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，必入耶和華的庫中。」

耶弗他就向耶和華許願，說：「你若將亞捫人交在我手中，我從亞捫人那裏平平安安回來的時候，無論甚麼人，先從我家門出來迎接我，就必歸你，我也必將他獻上為燔祭。」
