Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

Now the men of Israel were pressed to exhaustion that day, because Saul had placed them under an oath, saying,“ Let a curse fall on anyone who eats before evening— before I have full revenge on my enemies.” So no one ate anything all day,

and the men of Israel were worn out that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath:“ The man who eats food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies is cursed.” So none of the troops tasted any food.

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and before I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

“‘製造耶和華厭惡的雕像或鑄像，工人手中做的，並且在暗處設立的，那人必受咒詛。’眾民都要應聲說：‘阿們。’“‘輕慢父母的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘移動鄰舍地界的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘使瞎子走錯路的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘對寄居的和孤兒寡婦屈枉正直的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘和父親的妻子同寢的，必受咒詛，因為他揭開了他父親的衣襟。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘和任何野獸同寢的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘和同父異母，或是同母異父的姊妹同寢的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘和岳母同寢的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘暗中殺害鄰舍的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘接受賄賂殺人，流無辜人的血的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’“‘不堅守這律法的話去遵行的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’”

以色列人在米斯巴曾經起誓說：“我們中間不可有人把自己的女兒嫁給便雅憫人作妻子。”眾人來到伯特利，在那裡坐在神面前直到晚上，放聲大哭，說：“耶和華以色列的神啊，今日以色列中缺少了一個支派，為甚麼在以色列中發生這事呢？”次日，眾人清早起來，在那裡築了一座祭壇，獻上燔祭和平安祭。以色列人彼此說：“以色列各支派中，誰沒有與會眾上到耶和華面前來呢？”因為他們曾經起過很嚴厲的誓，說：“不上米斯巴到耶和華面前的，必把他處死。”

“你們要稱頌耶和華，因為以色列中有勇士，因為有人民自願從軍。

到以色列強盛了，就迫使迦南人作苦工，但沒有把他們完全趕走。

他是那位為我伸冤的神，他使萬民服在我的腳下。

約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫眾民所起的誓，所以伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裡，轉手送進口裡，他的眼睛就明亮了。眾民中有一個人說：“你父親曾經叫眾人嚴嚴地起誓說：‘今天吃食物的，那人必受咒詛。’所以眾人都疲乏了。”約拿單說：“我父親連累了這地的人。你們看！我嘗了這一點蜂蜜以後，我的眼睛就明亮了。今天眾民若是隨意吃了從他們的仇敵奪得的東西，不是更好嗎？如今被擊殺的非利士人，不是更多嗎？”

如果有人不愛主，他就該受咒詛。主啊，願你來！

如果有人永獻牲畜作永屬耶和華的聖物，就不可贖回；必須把牠殺死。

於是以色列人向耶和華許願，說：“如果你把這民交在我手裡，我就必把他們的城盡行毀滅。”

這城要完全毀滅，城和城中的一切都歸耶和華；只有妓女喇合，和所有與她在家中的都可以存活，因為她收藏了我們派去的使者。不過你們要謹慎，不可取那當毀滅的物，恐怕你們貪心，取了那當毀滅的物，就使以色列營成為當毀滅的，使以色列營遭遇災禍。可是，所有的金銀和銅鐵的器皿，都要歸耶和華為聖，存入耶和華的庫房中。”

耶弗他向耶和華許願，說：“如果你真的把亞捫人交在我手裡，我從亞捫人那裡平平安安回來的時候，無論誰先從我的家門出來迎接我，他就必歸耶和華，我也必把他當作燔祭。”
