當日掃羅與民發誓、曰、毋食餱糧、迨夕乃可、犯者見詛、俟我盡報斯仇。因此以色列族不嘗食物、困憊特甚。

Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying,“ Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.

The Israelites became very hungry that day. That’s because Saul had forced the army to make a promise. He had said,“ None of you must eat any food before evening comes. You must not eat until I’ve paid my enemies back for what they did. If you do, may you be under a curse!” So none of the troops ate any food at all.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

Now the men of Israel were pressed to exhaustion that day, because Saul had placed them under an oath, saying,“ Let a curse fall on anyone who eats before evening— before I have full revenge on my enemies.” So no one ate anything all day,

and the men of Israel were worn out that day, for Saul had placed the troops under an oath:“ The man who eats food before evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies is cursed.” So none of the troops tasted any food.

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed on that day, for Saul had put the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening, and before I have avenged myself on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.

之後，約書亞起誓說：「重建耶利哥城的人必定在耶和華面前受咒詛，他立地基的時候必死長子，建城門的時候必喪幼子。」

我可以證明，他們對上帝有熱心，但不是基於真知。

不敬虔的張口敗壞鄰舍，義人卻因知識獲得拯救。

『凡雕刻或鑄造耶和華所憎惡的神像，並偷偷供奉的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡不尊敬父母的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡挪移鄰居界石的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡故意帶領盲人走錯路的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『不公正地對待寄居者和孤兒寡婦的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡與父親的妻妾亂倫，使父親蒙羞的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡與獸交合的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡與同父或同母姊妹亂倫的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡與岳母亂倫的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡暗殺鄰居的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡因收受賄賂而殺害無辜的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』『凡不遵行這律法的必受咒詛！』全體民眾要回答說，『阿們！』

以色列人曾在米斯巴起誓不把女兒嫁給便雅憫人。他們來到伯特利，坐在上帝面前放聲痛哭，直到黃昏。他們說：「以色列的上帝耶和華啊，以色列為何少了一個支派呢？為何發生了這樣的事呢？」第二天，眾人清早起來在那裡築了一座祭壇，獻上燔祭和平安祭。他們彼此議論說：「我們到米斯巴聚集在耶和華面前的時候，各支派中誰沒有來呢？」原來，他們曾經起誓說：凡不到米斯巴聚集在耶和華面前的人都要被處死。

「以色列的首領身先士卒，民眾前仆後繼，你們要讚美耶和華！

以色列人強盛時，就強迫他們服勞役，卻沒有全部趕走他們。

祂是為我伸冤的上帝，祂使列邦臣服於我。

約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫以色列人起誓，他伸出手中的杖蘸蜂房的蜜吃，立刻精神大振。有個士兵告訴約拿單，說：「你父親曾叫眾人鄭重起誓，『今天吃東西的人必受咒詛。』所以大家很疲憊。」約拿單說：「我父親使大家受苦了。你看，我只吃了少許蜂蜜，就精神大振，如果大家吃了從敵人那裡奪來的食物，我們就會殲滅更多的非利士人。」

如果有人不愛主，這人可咒可詛！主啊，我願你來！

凡永遠獻上的人不可被贖回，必須被處死。

以色列人向耶和華許願說：「要是你將這些人交在我們手中，我們必徹底摧毀他們的城邑。」

要把這座城和城裡所有的東西毀滅，作為獻給耶和華之物。只有妓女喇合和她家中所有的人可以活命，因為她曾把我們派去的探子隱藏起來。你們要小心，不可私拿任何應當毀滅的東西，免得你們自取滅亡，並給以色列全營帶來災禍。要把所有的金銀和銅鐵器皿分別出來獻給耶和華，放進耶和華的庫房裡。」

他向耶和華許願說：「如果你把亞捫人交在我手中，讓我凱旋而歸，第一個從我家門出來迎接我的人必歸給你，我必把他獻給你作燔祭。」
