Some Hebrews even crossed the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgal, and all the troops with him were quaking with fear.

摩西把亞摩利王西宏的國和巴珊王噩的國，就是他們的國土和周圍的城鎮，都給了迦得子孫和呂便子孫，以及約瑟的兒子瑪拿西半個支派。迦得子孫建造了底本、亞他錄、亞羅珥、亞他錄‧朔反、雅謝、約比哈、伯‧寧拉、伯‧哈蘭，都是堅固城，並築有羊圈。呂便子孫建造了希實本、以利亞利、基列亭、尼波、巴力‧免（名字是改了的）、西比瑪；他們給建造的城另起別名。瑪拿西的兒子瑪吉的子孫往基列去，佔了那地，趕出那裏的亞摩利人。摩西把基列賜給瑪拿西的兒子瑪吉，他就住在那裏。瑪拿西的子孫睚珥佔了基列的城鎮，就稱這些城鎮為哈倭特‧睚珥。挪巴佔了基納和基納的鄉鎮，就照自己的名字稱基納為挪巴。

「耶和華必使你在仇敵面前潰敗。你從一條路去攻擊他們，必從七條路逃跑。地上萬國必因你而驚駭。

官長要繼續對士兵說：『誰懼怕，心驚膽戰，可以回家去，免得他弟兄的心像他的心一樣消沉。』

我要向你們變臉，使你們敗在仇敵的面前。恨惡你們的必管轄你們；無人追趕，你們卻要逃跑。

耶和華如獅子吼叫，他的兒女必跟隨他。他一吼叫，他們就從西方戰兢而來。他們必如雀鳥從埃及戰兢而來，又如鴿子從亞述地來到。我必使他們住自己的房屋；這是耶和華說的。

現在你要向這百姓宣告說：『凡懼怕戰兢的，可以離開基列山回去。』」於是有二萬二千人回去，只剩下一萬人。

摩西按着迦得支派的宗族分產業給他們。他們的地界是雅謝和基列的各城，以及亞捫人之地的一半，直到拉巴前面的亞羅珥；還有從希實本到拉抹‧米斯巴和比多寧，又從瑪哈念到底璧的邊界，和谷中的伯‧亞蘭、伯‧寧拉、疏割、撒分，就是希實本王西宏國土中其餘的地，以及約旦河與靠近約旦河的地，直到基尼烈海的邊緣，都在約旦河東。以上是迦得人按着宗族所得為業的城鎮和所屬的村莊。摩西分產業給瑪拿西半支派，這是按着瑪拿西半支派的宗族分的。他們的地界是從瑪哈念起，包括整個巴珊全地，就是巴珊王噩的整個國土，以及在巴珊、睚珥的一切城鎮，共六十個；還有基列的一半，以及巴珊國的王噩的亞斯她錄和以得來兩座城。這些地是按着宗族分給瑪拿西兒子瑪吉子孫的，就是給瑪吉一半子孫的。

至於你們倖存的人，我要使他們在敵人之地心中驚慌，甚至風吹落葉的聲音也把他們嚇跑。他們要逃避，像人逃避刀劍，雖無人追趕，卻要跌倒。雖然無人追趕，他們卻要彼此絆倒，像逃避刀劍一樣。你們在仇敵面前必站立不住。

呂便子孫和迦得子孫的牲畜極其眾多。他們看到雅謝地和基列地；看哪，這是可牧放牲畜的地方。呂便子孫和迦得子孫就到摩西和以利亞撒祭司，以及會眾的領袖那裏，說：「亞他錄、底本、雅謝、寧拉、希實本、以利亞利、示班、尼波、比穩，就是耶和華在以色列會眾面前所攻取之地，是可牧放牲畜之地，而你的僕人也有牲畜。」又說：「我們若在你眼前蒙恩，求你把這地給我們為業；不要領我們過約旦河。」

「那時，我們得了這地。從亞嫩谷旁的亞羅珥起，連同基列山區的一半和境內的城鎮，我都給了呂便人和迦得人。
