Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said,“ Let the Hebrews hear!”

那時大衛在那山寨；非利士人的駐防營那時在伯利恆。

基法阿摩尼、俄弗尼、迦巴：十二座城，和屬這些城的村莊；

以色列人又從便雅憫支派的產業中給了他們基遍和屬基遍的牧場，迦巴和屬迦巴的牧場，

這一天掃羅的兒子約拿單對拿軍器的青年護兵說：『來，我們過去到那邊、到非尼士人的駐防營那裏去吧』；但是他沒有告訴他父親。掃羅在迦巴的儘邊，坐在米磯崙的石榴樹下，跟從他的約有六百人。又有亞希突的兒子亞希亞帶着神諭像：亞希突是以迦博的兄弟、非尼哈的兒子、以利的孫子：以利從前在示羅做永恆主的祭司。約拿單去了，人民都不知道。約拿單想法子要從隘口過去到非利士人的駐防營那裏，在隘口之間、這邊有一個牙形巖石，那邊也有一個牙形巖石；一個名叫播薛，一個名叫西尼。一個牙形柱狀的巖石在北邊，和密抹相對；一個在南邊，和迦巴相對。約拿單對拿軍器的青年護兵說：『來，我們過去、到這些沒有受割禮的人的駐防營那裏去吧；或者永恆主能為我們作一件事，因為永恆主拯救人、是不受人多或人少所牽制的。』
