Jonathan attacked the Philistine outpost at Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul had the trumpet blown throughout the land and said,“ Let the Hebrews hear!”

Some Philistine soldiers were stationed at Geba. Jonathan attacked them. The other Philistines heard about it. Saul announced,“ Let the Hebrew people hear about what has happened!” He had trumpets blown all through the land.

Jonathan defeated the garrison of the Philistines that was at Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying,“ Let the Hebrews hear.”

Soon after this, Jonathan attacked and defeated the garrison of Philistines at Geba. The news spread quickly among the Philistines. So Saul blew the ram’s horn throughout the land, saying,“ Hebrews, hear this! Rise up in revolt!”

全地，从迦巴直到耶路撒冷南方的临门，都要变成平原；但耶路撒冷仍必屹然耸立，从便雅悯门到第一门的地方，到角门，又从哈楠业楼到王的榨酒池，都在原处。

那时大卫在山寨中，非利士人的驻军却在伯利恒。

基法．阿摩尼、俄弗尼、迦巴，共十二座城，还有属于这些城的村庄；

又从便雅悯支派中，分给他们基遍和基遍的郊野，迦巴和迦巴的郊野，

他们过了隘口，在迦巴住宿；拉玛人战兢，扫罗的基比亚人逃跑。

扫罗和他的儿子约拿单，以及跟随他们的人都停留在便雅悯的迦巴，非利士人却在密抹安营。

有一天，扫罗的儿子约拿单对替他拿武器的仆人说：“来！我们过到非利士人的驻军那边去吧。”但他没有告诉父亲。那时扫罗在基比亚的边界，坐在米矶仑的石榴树下，跟随他的约有六百人。其中有亚希突的儿子亚希亚带着以弗得；亚希突是以迦博的哥哥，非尼哈的儿子，以利的孙子。以利从前在示罗作耶和华的祭司。约拿单去了，众人都不知道。约拿单设法要经过那个隘口到非利士人的驻军那里去，隘口的两边各有一个山峰，一个名叫播薛，另一个名叫西尼。一个高峰向北，与密抹相对，另一个向南，与迦巴相对。约拿单对替他拿武器的仆人说：“来！我们过到这些未受割礼的人的驻军那里去，也许耶和华会为我们动工，因为不论人多或人少，都不能妨碍耶和华施行拯救。”
