亚述大军攻占了亚叶，穿过米矶仑，把辎重存放在密抹。他们过了关口，在迦巴宿营。拉玛人战战兢兢，扫罗的乡亲基比亚人仓皇逃跑。

洗拉、以利弗、耶布斯——即耶路撒冷、基比亚、基列，共十四座城及其附近的乡村。这就是便雅悯各宗族所分到的土地。

请你把扫罗的七个子孙交给我们。耶和华选立了扫罗，我们就在耶和华面前把他们吊死在扫罗的家乡基比亚城。”王说：“我必把他们交给你们。”

事后，撒母耳回到拉玛，扫罗也返回基比亚自己的家。

主人说：“我们不可在没有以色列人住的外邦城邑住宿，不如赶到基比亚。”

“将来管辖你们的王会征用你们的儿子做他的战车兵、骑兵，要他们跑在他的战车前面。
