撒母耳曰、爾所為者愚也、不遵爾上帝耶和華所命、如其遵之、則耶和華必在以色列中、堅爾國祚、歷久弗替、

撒母耳曰、爾所為者、違耶和華命、不智孰甚。昔耶和華欲立爾為以色列族王、永爾國祚、

撒母耳謂掃羅曰、爾之所行實愚、爾不守主爾天主所諭爾之命、若守之、則主必永堅爾國於以色列、

“ You have done a foolish thing,” Samuel said.“ You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have been foolish. You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you. It was at this time that the LORD would have permanently established your reign over Israel,

But Samuel said to Saul,“ You have acted foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, for the Lord would now have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

And Samuel said to Saul,“ You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly; thou hast not kept the commandment of Jehovah thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would Jehovah have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have been foolish. You have not kept the command which the Lord your God gave you. It was at this time that the Lord would have permanently established your reign over Israel,

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

Then Samuel said to Saul,“ You have made a foolish choice! You have not obeyed the commandment that the LORD your God gave you. Had you done that, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever!

Samuel said to Saul,“ You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you; for now Yahweh would have established your kingdom on Israel forever.

因為耶和華的眼目遍察全地，要堅固向他存純正之心的人。你在這事上行得愚昧；因此，以後你必有戰爭。」

撒母耳說：「耶和華喜愛燔祭和祭物，豈如喜愛人聽從他的話呢？看哪，聽命勝於獻祭，順從勝於公羊的脂肪。

「我立掃羅為王，我感到遺憾，因為他轉去不跟從我，不遵守我的命令。」撒母耳就很生氣，終夜哀求耶和華。

撒母耳對他說：「今日耶和華使以色列國與你斷絕，把這國賜給另一個比你更好的人。

以利亞說：「使以色列遭殃的不是我，而是你和你的父家，因為你們離棄耶和華的誡命，去隨從巴力。

人因愚昧自毀前途，他的心卻埋怨耶和華。

我並不因你的祭物責備你；你的燔祭常在我面前。我不從你家中取公牛，也不從你圈內取公山羊；因為，林中的百獸是我的，千山的牲畜也是我的。山中的飛鳥，我都知道，田野的走獸也都屬我。「我若是飢餓，不用告訴你，因為世界和其中所充滿的都是我的。我豈吃公牛的肉呢？我豈喝公山羊的血呢？你們要以感謝為祭獻給上帝，又要向至高者還你的願，並要在患難之日求告我，我必搭救你，你也要榮耀我。」

亞哈對以利亞說：「我的仇敵啊，你找到我了嗎？」他說：「我找到你了。因為你出賣自己，行了耶和華眼中看為惡的事。

耶和華的怒氣向亞瑪謝發作，差派一個先知去見他，對他說：「這些神明不能救自己的百姓脫離你的手，你為何尋求它們呢？」先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「難道我們立你作王的謀士嗎？你住口吧！為何要挨打呢？」先知就止住了，卻說：「我知道上帝已定意要消滅你，因為你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒。」

你會對君王說：『你是卑鄙的』；對貴族說：『你們是邪惡的』嗎？

拿單對大衛說：「你就是那人！耶和華－以色列的上帝如此說：『我膏你作以色列的王，我救你脫離掃羅的手；我將你主人的家業賜給你，將你主人的妃嬪交在你懷裏，又將以色列和猶大家賜給你；若還嫌少，我也會如此這般加倍賜給你。你為甚麼藐視耶和華的命令，做他眼中看為惡的事呢？你用刀擊殺赫人烏利亞，又娶了他的妻子為妻，借亞捫人的刀殺死他。

哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先見出來迎接約沙法王，對他說：「你怎麼可以幫助惡人，愛那恨耶和華的人呢？因此耶和華的憤怒臨到你了。

原來，希律為他兄弟腓力的妻子希羅底的緣故，把約翰抓住綁了，關進監獄，因為約翰曾對他說：「你佔有這婦人是不合法的。」
