“ After Jacob entered Egypt, they cried to the Lord for help, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

“ After Jacob’s family entered Egypt, they cried out to the Lord for help. The Lord sent Moses and Aaron. They brought your people out of Egypt. They had them make their homes in this land.

When Jacob went into Egypt, and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your fathers cried out to the Lord and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place.

“ When the Israelites were in Egypt and cried out to the Lord, he sent Moses and Aaron to rescue them from Egypt and to bring them into this land.

“ When Jacob went to Egypt, your ancestors cried out to the LORD, and he sent them Moses and Aaron, who led your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

When Jacob went into Egypt and your fathers cried out to the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron who brought your fathers out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

Then the LORD became angry with Moses, and he said,“ What about your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he can speak very well. Moreover, he is coming to meet you, and when he sees you he will be glad in his heart.“ So you are to speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And as for me, I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you both what you must do.He will speak for you to the people, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were his God.

During that long period of time the king of Egypt died, and the Israelites groaned because of the slave labor. They cried out, and their desperate cry because of their slave labor went up to God.God heard their groaning, God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob,

He said to the Israelites,“ This is what the LORD God of Israel says,‘ I brought Israel up from Egypt and I delivered you from the power of the Egyptians and from the power of all the kingdoms that oppressed you.

how our ancestors went down into Egypt, and we lived in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians treated us and our ancestors badly.

Be strong and brave! You must lead these people in the conquest of this land that I solemnly promised their ancestors I would hand over to them.

So Jacob went down to Egypt and died there, along with our ancestors,

Samuel said to the people,“ The LORD is the one who chose Moses and Aaron and who brought your ancestors up from the land of Egypt.

So the LORD saved Israel on that day from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea.When Israel saw the great power that the LORD had exercised over the Egyptians, they feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in his servant Moses.

And on this very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their regiments.

He brought them to the border of his holy land, to this mountainous land which his right hand acquired.He drove the nations out from before them; he assigned them their tribal allotments and allowed the tribes of Israel to settle down.

Then Jacob started out from Beer Sheba, and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little children, and their wives in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent along to transport him.Jacob and all his descendants took their livestock and the possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and they went to Egypt.He brought with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons, his daughters and granddaughters– all his descendants.

Joshua continued,“ This is how you will know the living God is among you and that he will truly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.Look! The ark of the covenant of the Ruler of the whole earth is ready to enter the Jordan ahead of you.Now select for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one per tribe.When the feet of the priests carrying the ark of the LORD, the Ruler of the whole earth, touch the water of the Jordan, the water coming downstream toward you will stop flowing and pile up.”

And now indeed the cry of the Israelites has come to me, and I have also seen how severely the Egyptians oppress them.So now go, and I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

O God, we have clearly heard; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in ancient times.You, by your power, defeated nations and settled our fathers on their land; you crushed the people living there and enabled our ancestors to occupy it.For they did not conquer the land by their swords, and they did not prevail by their strength, but rather by your power, strength and good favor, for you were partial to them.

It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said,“ Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their regiments.”

The LORD said to Aaron,“ Go to the wilderness to meet Moses. So he went and met him at the mountain of God and greeted him with a kiss.Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him and all the signs that he had commanded him.Then Moses and Aaron went and brought together all the Israelite elders.Aaron spoke all the words that the LORD had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people,and the people believed. When they heard that the LORD had attended to the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.

He handed the territory of nations over to them, and they took possession of what other peoples had produced,

“ Moses my servant is dead. Get ready! Cross the Jordan River! Lead these people into the land which I am ready to hand over to them.I am handing over to you every place you set foot, as I promised Moses.Your territory will extend from the wilderness in the south to Lebanon in the north. It will extend all the way to the great River Euphrates in the east( including all of Syria) and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
