“ After Jacob entered Egypt, they cried to the Lord for help, and the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

“ After Jacob’s family entered Egypt, they cried out to the Lord for help. The Lord sent Moses and Aaron. They brought your people out of Egypt. They had them make their homes in this land.

“ When the Israelites were in Egypt and cried out to the Lord, he sent Moses and Aaron to rescue them from Egypt and to bring them into this land.

“ When Jacob went to Egypt, your ancestors cried out to the LORD, and he sent them Moses and Aaron, who led your ancestors out of Egypt and settled them in this place.

During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

And he said to the people of Israel,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,‘ I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all the kingdoms that were oppressing you.’

how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we lived in Egypt a long time. And the Egyptians dealt harshly with us and our fathers.

Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.

And Jacob went down into Egypt, and he died, he and our fathers,

Thus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, so the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in his servant Moses.

And on that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.

And he brought them to his holy land, to the mountain which his right hand had won.He drove out nations before them; he apportioned them for a possession and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

Then Jacob set out from Beersheba. The sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent to carry him.They also took their livestock and their goods, which they had gained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob and all his offspring with him,his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters. All his offspring he brought with him into Egypt.

And Joshua said,“ Here is how you shall know that the living God is among you and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, the Perizzites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, and the Jebusites.Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is passing over before you into the Jordan.Now therefore take twelve men from the tribes of Israel, from each tribe a man.And when the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off from flowing, and the waters coming down from above shall stand in one heap.”

And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, what deeds you performed in their days, in the days of old:you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm, and the light of your face, for you delighted in them.

These are the Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said:“ Bring out the people of Israel from the land of Egypt by their hosts.”

The Lord said to Aaron,“ Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the mountain of God and kissed him.And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him to speak, and all the signs that he had commanded him to do.Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel.Aaron spoke all the words that the Lord had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people.And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the people of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped.

And he gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil,

“ Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory.
