Nahash the Ammonite replied,“ I’ll make one with you on this condition: that I gouge out everyone’s right eye and humiliate all Israel.”

亚扪人拿辖说：“你们若由我剜出你们各人的右眼，以此凌辱以色列众人，我就与你们立约。”

亚扪人拿辖对他们说：“你们若由我挖出你们各人的右眼，以此凌辱以色列众人，我就与你们立约。”

亚扪人拿辖说：“好，但有一个条件，我要挖去你们每一个人的右眼作为对全体以色列人的羞辱。”

亚扪人拿辖对他们说：“这是我与你们立约的条件：我要剜出你们各人的右眼，用来羞辱以色列众人。”

但亚扪人纳哈什对他们说：“我会以这条件与你们立约：剜出你们每个人的右眼，使全以色列蒙受耻辱。”

亞捫人拿轄說：「你們若由我剜出你們各人的右眼，以此凌辱以色列眾人，我就與你們立約。」

亞捫人拿轄對他們說：『只有這條件：你們各人的右眼剜出來，讓我羞辱以色列眾人：我就和你們立約。』

但亞捫人納哈什對他們說：「我會以這條件與你們立約：剜出你們每個人的右眼，使全以色列蒙受恥辱。」

拿轄曰、與爾立約、必有所憑、即抉爾眾右目、以辱以色列眾、

拿轄曰、抉爾右目、以辱以色列眾、則可。

But Nahash the Ammonite replied,“ I will make a treaty with you only on the condition that I gouge out the right eye of every one of you and so bring disgrace on all Israel.”

Nahash, the king of Ammon, replied,“ I will make a peace treaty with you. But I’ll do it only on one condition. You must let me put out the right eye of every one of you. I want to bring shame on the whole nation of Israel.”

But Nahash the Ammonite said to them,“ On this condition I will make a treaty with you, that I gouge out all your right eyes, and thus bring disgrace on all Israel.”

“ All right,” Nahash said,“ but only on one condition. I will gouge out the right eye of every one of you as a disgrace to all Israel!”

But Nahash the Ammonite said to them,“ I will make it with you on this condition, that I will gouge out the right eye of every one of you, and thereby I will inflict a disgrace on all Israel.”

And Nahash the Ammonite answered them,“ On this condition I will make a covenant with you, that I may put out all your right eyes, and bring reproach on all Israel.”

And Nahash the Ammonite said unto them, On this condition will I make it with you, that all your right eyes be put out; and I will lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.

Nahash the Ammonite replied,“ I’ll make one with you on this condition: that I gouge out everyone’s right eye and humiliate all Israel.”

And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this[ condition] will I make[ a covenant] with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it[ for] a reproach upon all Israel.

But Nahash the Ammonite said to them,“ The only way I will make a treaty with you is if you let me gouge out the right eye of every one of you and in so doing humiliate all Israel!”

Nahash the Ammonite said to them,“ On this condition I will make it with you, that all your right eyes be gouged out. I will make this dishonor all Israel.”

David spoke to the men who were standing with him:“ What will be done for the man who kills that Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Just who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

“ We cannot do this thing,” they said to them.“ Giving our sister to an uncircumcised man is a disgrace to us.

Furthermore, you didn’t bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey or give us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men? We will not come!”

The righteous cares about his animal’s health, but even the merciful acts of the wicked are cruel.

Then he blinded Zedekiah and put him in bronze chains to take him to Babylon.

The Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes. They brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles, and he was forced to grind grain in the prison.

“ Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says:‘ Make peace with me and surrender to me. Then each of you may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree, and each may drink water from his own cistern

Then he continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.
