And Jonathan attacked the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard about it. Then Saul blew the trumpet throughout the land, saying,“ Let the Hebrews hear!”

Then Saul sent messengers to take David, but when they saw the company of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing and presiding over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul; and they also prophesied.

He then stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, according to the command of David and of Gad, the king’s seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the command was from the Lord through His prophets.The Levites stood with the musical instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.Then Hezekiah gave the order to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song to the Lord also began with the trumpets, accompanied by the instruments of David, king of Israel.

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound aloud cymbals of bronze;and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with harps tuned to alamoth;and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, to lead with lyres tuned to the sheminith.

Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dancing.And Miriam answered them,“ Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”

Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre.Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flute.Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals.Everything that has breath shall praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed edom, and Jeiel, with musical instruments, harps, and lyres; also Asaph played loud sounding cymbals,

Pursue love, yet earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. David also wore an ephod of linen.So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud sounding cymbals, with harps, and lyres.
